Dave Stumps For Kerry
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Politics at 5:15pm on Monday, Jun 21st, 2004Dave will play a fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall July 8 for the presumed Democratic Nominee for President. According to the New York Daily News, Matthews will play the fundraiser for John Kerry (D-MA) along with other fellow liberal-cause supporters Jon Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, and others. The event was originally to be on June 10th, but the death of President Ronald Reagan postponed the event.
The Daily News quotes Dave as saying, "Whether one is talking about the economy, or the environment, jobs ... or the war on terror, John Kerry is the only choice."
Dave's previous 'only choice' was Howard Dean. Dave appeared (but did not perform) at several Dean rallies, before "the scream" ended Dean's bid for the Presidency.
UPDATE: 6/25/04 4:15pm. According to an email from The Official Site, the Performance will be DMB, not just Dave. Tickets to see DMB play for the man of the 'common man' can be yours for the low low price of $250 to $500. Tickets are available via ticketmaster.
