The 2005
Farm Aid, an effort to help family farmers, has been scheduled for Chicago on September 18th at Tweeter Center in Tinley Park. The four big names associated with Farm Aid, Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp, will again be headlining the event. Mellencamp has also confirmed Wilco will be playing the event. The on sale date for the concert will be July 30th, with warehouse ticketing to likely precede. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Farm Aid and brings the concert back to the state where it first occured. Don't expect to hear Matthews discuss manure as a fertilizer; the city has already heard that one from him.
Farm Aid is holding a contest thanks to Organic Valley, to give away a pair of tickets plus $500 in travel vouchers for transportation. Thanks to OklahomaMama for the heads up. :)
