Live Trax Vol. 4 Old School?
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Live Releases at 12:00pm on Saturday, Jul 16th, 2005It appears Red Light is preparing to release Live Trax Vol. 4, and they're going with a retro show.
A link at the music today website shows a Dave Matthews Band Live Trax Vol. 4 available for pre-order, and if you squint you can just make out the date of 4.30.96.

The Richmond, VA show is uncommon to say the least (only about 25 or so registered Ants users have the show). The performance is known as a 'Crash Release Party' performance, and features many songs from the then-just-released Crash album. The band performed a special jam during the show, and closed with 4 encore songs (1 Dave solo) - including Little Thing (which was cut from Crash) featuring Dave, Carter, and Stefan only. Back in '96, this was a much sought after performance, but not extremely common even then.
The powers that DM"be" have changed their minds before on live releases (cycle through the Did You Know's? for more details), so until an official word comes out, this release is still 'pending'.
Thanks to Ants user Gregb486 whose unintentional detective work found himself stumbling upon the preorder page and letting AM.org know about it first.
UPDATE: The link was taken down on Monday. Many fans, however, did the 'preorder' while the link was active, and the release date they were told was September 2 via email. Stay tuned...
