DMB Charity Work Honored
Posted by Joe Maliszeski in Charity at 9:00am on Thursday, Sep 22nd, 2005The Dave Matthews Band will be presented with the Humanitarian Award during Roadwork '05: The Billboard Touring Conference and Awards, on Oct. 25-26 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. DMB was selected for the award because of the millions they donate (just as a band) to charities through their Bama Works Foundation. Some of the charities just within the last year or so include, most recently a number of concerts for Hurricane Katrina victims, Farmaid, New York city schools and reading centers, San Francisco Bay Area charities, YouthAids, Live8, Bridge School Benefit, and others. The band also routinely donates and signs memorabilia for charity auctions.
