The AntsMarching.org Clean Air Challenge

Posted by Joe Maliszeski in antsmarching.org Site News at 2:00pm on Friday, Oct 7th, 2005

It's hard to imagine that something as incredible as a Dave Matthews Band show could be bad for the environment. But the fact is that concerts contribute to global warming - and we, the fans, are the major source of concert-related carbon pollution!

The Dave Matthews Band and Crew are very much aware of this and has taken steps to offset their carbon pollution produced from energy use at the venues and hotels, as well as personnel and equipment transportation. The Band’s larger efforts though are to promote awareness of global warming and climate change, and to encourage individuals to take personal action. AM.org has followed DMB's lead and also wants to help fans do the same.

AntsMarching.org has teamed with NativeEnergy, the same organization DMB has worked with, to make it easy for fans to follow the Band's footsteps and initiative. NativeEnergy works to reduce contributions to global warming by helping, in partnership with Native American tribes, to build new wind farms that reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. Over the past 7 months we have been working with NativeEnergy to create this great program that enables AntsMarching.org members to compensate for their CO2 emissions resulting from travel to/from the Summer 2005 Tour DMB shows. By taking action to make up for your CO2 emissions, you'll end up having the same effect on global warming as if you powered your trip to see DMB with wind energy. Help spread the word to DMB fans!

Now it's your turn! Please visit the AntsMarching.org Clean Air Challenge page and learn about this great program!
