Overwhelming Fenway Demand

Posted by Joe Maliszeski in Tour News at 7:00pm on Thursday, Mar 30th, 2006

Unforeseen demand for the July 7-8th Dave Matthews Band and Sheryl Crow concert at Fenway Park in Boston, MA has the Warehouse biting its tongue. Today in an email to members who requested tickets the Warehouse announced cutting tickets back from what people requested and preparing people to be declined, saying "There is a good chance that many requests will not be fulfilled for this show." This comes as a surprise to both fans and the band management as they initially allowed members to order up to 4 tickets to the ~50,000 capacity show. Those that requested 3 or 4 tickets for night one will automatically be changed to a 2 ticket request and VIP tickets for night two over 2 will be changed also.

One wonders about Warehouse members who elected to order tickets along with another member as a group of 4 with the intention of sitting together (a feature many fans wish existed for other concerts). Looks like such Warehouse member is out of luck and effectively been declined for tickets without even a chance. As it stands now all you can do is edit or cancel your request if you wish.

The demand for Fenway tickets will likely push 2005 Warehouse Packages back further until October. We're kidding; at least we hope we are.
