DMB News and Notes
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Album News at 6:00pm on Monday, Jul 2nd, 2007A few items of note concerning the Dave Matthews Band in the past weekend or so.
First, it appears the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Radio City Music Hall will be released August 14, according to bestbuy.com. Best Buy just lists a CD, but sources familiar with the process of this release tell antsmarching.org that a DVD is planned for release as well. You'll recall the concert was professionally videotaped. Lets just hope they recorded the drunk hecklers so we can mock them as much as Dave did.
That release will occur early in the DMB summer tour. Ever wonder how they decide what old songs to bring back? According to an interview with Billboard.com, Dave says they turn to you, the fan.
"We look online or hear through conversations maybe what songs fans want to hear."
Of course, which songs will return is still a mystery. A source familiar with the band tells antsmarching.org that DMB is also trying a few popular songs with a few different wrinkles to them.
Finally, speaking of tours, the hot rumor is that DMB will headline Vegoose in, well, Vegas. No acts have been confirmed as yet, (so don't start buying plane tickets yet) but it certainly wouldn't shock anyone if DMB (the full band) did return to Sin City for another show or two this year. The official announcement didn't occur until August last year (with a show around the same time as this year), so, as you all well know, things change and nothing is set in stone yet.
