RCMH News/Bid on Lounge Passes
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Album News at 9:15pm on Thursday, Jul 12th, 2007The Pre-Order for the Radio City Music Hall release is available, according to The Official Site. As we mentioned previously, it will be available in digital download format, CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray. But there are some perks for the more you purchase.
Any single order of the above will get you a 4-track bonus disc of, "never-before-released live songs" from the 07 Europe tour. Before you start screaming MacHead!!!, the key words are Europe Tour and never-before-released. That means song that have not been on live discs previously (think Some Devil stuff).
If you order the CD/DVD combo, you receive an 8-track bonus disc.
And... all orders will be entered in a contest to win tickets to the West Palm Beach shows, including air fare and a hotel, plus you get to actually meet Dave himself.
Say you really want to meet Dave, at any cost... Well, we can't promise that, but closest thing to that is free food and drinks (alcohol too!) during the show of your choice!
DMB has graciously donated Lounge Passes and tickets to the show of your choice, via sweet relief. A little background on Sweet Relief, they have been assisting ill, injured or elderly musicians with the costs of alternative and traditional medical treatments, and with expenses for basic needs, for the past 12 years. DMB has assisted sweet relief in the past, and once again have stepped it up to offer some assistance.
A lounge pass gives you access to... wait for it... the lounge! It is generally a location set up so you can at the very least hear all of the show (and generally see as well), and a buffet and open bar (non-alcoholic drinks as well, of course) is available throughout the entire show.
The auction - available at Ebay located here - ends July 16. So act fast. They also have some other auctions, just click on their username in the Ebay link to see the other ones.
One more brief item, ABC-News interviewed Dave as a part of a package on their national news regarding the questionable treatment of US soldiers and their alleged pre-existing medical conditions. If you missed the July 12 quickie bite by Dave, a longer more-interview-like segment will run on July 13 on ABC's Nightline (which airs at 11:30-ish in most markets). DMB is trying to make people aware of the hose-job some soldiers are getting from the government - the short version is some soldiers are making claims for injuries that occurred during combat missions only to be denied by the government because they're told they have a pre-existing condition - the majority of these are related to mental conditions (commonly referred to as post-traumatic stress disorder). If you're interested in attaching your name to a petition they plan on sending to the the Secretary of Defense, it's here.
NOTE: we clarified the 4-disc listing a bit.
