Summer Tour Time '07 Style
Posted by Matthew Yette in antsmarching.org Site News at 11:15am on Friday, Jul 27th, 2007Tour Time is upon us once again, and antsmarching.org is celebrating multiple occasions this time around. The site celebrated its fifth birthday this past January, just recently passed 140,000 registered members, and is being featured in the upcoming Radio City Music Hall DVD Documentary. We also (finally) rolled out the second iteration of our download service, utilizing the power of BitTorrent and RSS. In just over six months, the antsmarching.org community has served over 58,000 shows, totaling over 17TB of music! That's over 200 80GB iPod models filled to the brim.
So you've got your ticket orders in and the car's all gassed up. You know what you're going to do when you hit the road this summer. What's there to do when you aren't out tailgating and chanting for Two Step in between every-single-song (Saratoga)? Plenty. antsmarching.org has you covered.
Want to grab the latest show as soon as it hits the net? Subscribe to our 2007 Summer Tour RSS Feed and never worry about missing a show. It's like TiVo for DMB!

Compete for prizes and test your luck at predicting the sets that DMB will play each night. Bragging rights, free stuff, and your name on a really, really big billboard in Times Square (lied about that one).
In addition to seat locations, personal stats, and the like, you can now attach pictures to shows you've been to. Upload snaps of you and your pals tailgating. Show the world you know how to rock an after party. Just don't steal a car and chase your ex-assistant's mom down. Simply browse to your show in Tour Central and add a picture using the link on the right.
Tour Central is the ultimate in personal show statistics. Add shows you're going to, click on your seat location, and find fellow ants sitting near you! (if they want to be found) You can even get a breakdown of what songs you've seen, what your rarest songs and shows have been, and write your own review of the show, all Rolling Stone like. Showoff.
Let's face it. Nothing is cooler than being the first kid on the block to get the official word on what the band played that night. Or, being instantly notified that Boyd's sweat socks have went up for auction. antsmarching.org dishes you the latest DMB news, and that night's setlists, right to your mobile phone. Horoscopes coming soon. Not.
There's loads more to do at antsmarching.org, like Jake's yearly tour preview. You can read it here (in case you missed the link above). But don't stop there, have a look around the whole site, it's packed with things to read. Happy touring, enjoy the summer shows!
