What To Make of an '08 Album
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Album News at 7:47am on Thursday, Jan 10th, 2008It was probably about half way through the last song of the 2007 tour when the first semi-legitimate thread popped up at the forums wondering when the 2008 album would be ready to go.
The band is in no rush at all to produce an album for 2008. Antsmarching.org has heard from numerous sources who related basically the same story; the band is more interested in producing a quality album than just finishing something and putting it out by, say May or June. At the January 9 Yukon Kornelius performance, Stefan mentioned after the show to a few fans that he'd be in the studio 'around March'. That seems to be the timetable for the bulk of the work.
In the mean time, the band did have a short session in November, working mainly on older tracks, according to sources. By older, we mean stuff from the 2000's that has not been on an album. But that does not mean that any of that will be on any potential 2008 release.
And to quell any Producer rumors, a source familiar with the happenings of the band tells antsmarching.org that there has not been any final decision on who is producing the next album.
Again, production for the potential 2008 album should pick up around February/March, and after that we'll learn what will become of the sessions.
