2008 Summer Tour Kicks Off / AntsLive!
Posted by Matthew Yette in Tour News at 10:15am on Friday, May 30th, 2008The Dave Matthews Band 2008 Summer Tour kicks of its 52-show run tonight and tomorrow with a two night stand at the Post-Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA. Interest in tonight's show is no doubt increased due to the addition of Tim Reynolds as a touring partner, and the recent revelation that longtime keyboardist Butch Taylor has left the band.
Ants is celebrating the start of the 2008 Summer Tour with a new feature: AntsLive! Ants who are at the show are encouraged to send text messages, take pictures and videos from their mobile phones and send them to live -at- antsmarching.org during the show. Setlist-watchers at home can see your pictures, videos and texts come in real-time by clicking the AntsLive! link on the top-left side of the antsmarching.org front page once the show begins. Ants' contributions from the show will be archived in Tour Central for easy access to that night's AntsLive! session.
Our Setlist Game is once again in full swing. Picks can be made up to an hour before the show, but in case you're already on your way to the show and forgot to enter your picks, fret not! AntsMobile allows Ants with mobile web access on their cell phones to stay in the game! Simply browse to m.antsmarching.org and enter your Setlist Game picks right from your phone! Browse to the Forum, log in at the bottom of the page (making sure you check the box to stay logged in), and head on over to the Setlist Game to make your picks!
AntsMobile is truly the show-goers best friend. You can even PM other Ants, who, if they also have a web-enabled cell phone, can check their messages and write back to you! Set up impromptu tailgates, meet new friends and have a blast before, during, and after the show! Here's to another safe, great touring season.
