Coffin says he "will be joining" DMB in 2009

According to Coffin's official site, he says, "I will be joining Dave Matthews Band starting in 2009. I am honored to be asked to be part of such a fantastic group of musicians and people and am looking forward to making some great music!"
So... what's that 2009 talk?
As we mentioned a few months ago, Coffin was in discussion to permanently replace Leroi Moore as the DMB saxophonist. It appears that it's a done deal, right?
The problem is his wording; 2009. Does he mean for the 2009 tour, or does he mean, beginning in 2009, he will be a part of DMB? The latest publicity shot of DMB did not feature Jeff, so one wonders if he'll actually be in DMB, or he'll have that floating membership a la Butch Taylor did.
As we speculated during podcast 17, we feel that both Jeff and Tim Reynolds are for all intents and purposes in DMB, but we don't think there will be an official announcement from the official site regarding the status of either.
Regardless, we expect Tim and Jeff both on tour with DMB for all of 2009. And hopefully beyond.
