Coffin Lands CBS News Profile
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Band Member News at 7:13am on Tuesday, Sep 27th, 2011CBS News featured Dave Matthews Band saxophonist Jeff Coffin, in promotion of his new album, Jeff Coffin & the Mu'tet - LIVE!. If you are unfamiliar with the curriculum vitae of Coffin, it's a nice read.
Coffin has been teaching and running clinics, in addition to his work with DMB and other bands, since his 1990 graduation from the University of North Texas - one of the finest music schools in the country. Coffin is still humbled by the fact he is with DMB. "I was honored that they thought enough of me and of the way that I play to ask me to come in and help out and be there. I think they knew that my work ethic was such that I would come in prepared and do the very best I could."
There's a nice little video along with the jump to the story, so check that out too!

The questions are mainly about wine, but it does offer a glimmer of hope for European fans who are still wishing for Dave Matthews Band to make a trip across the pond. You can check it out here. And in case your Polish (or Czech) isn't great, the English translation is right below it.
Carter Endorses Vic Firth Drumsticks
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Band Member News at 9:22am on Wednesday, Mar 30th, 2011Carter Beauford has lent his name to support Vic Firth drumsticks. In a statement, Beauford said, "The stick not only felt perfectly straight and balanced, but I could also hear the difference immediately. I found I didn’t have to work so hard because the stick was working for me. It was then I realized that I had found the right tool for the job."
To highlight some of Carter's work, Vic Firth has provided some Carter-Cam videos on youtube. You can check out Carter spotlighted on Spaceman and Don't Drink The Water. Both videos are from West Palm Beach 2010 (nights 1 and 2 respectfully).
They also have a nifty contest to win a ton of Carter swag, and Dave Matthews Band MP3's. Just follow their rules and you too can be winning! Duh!

Tim Reynolds Tour 2011
Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Band Member News at 6:51am on Friday, Feb 18th, 2011Tim Reynolds other band, TR3, hits the road for a 3-month tour beginning in March. If you've never seen Tim play on his own live, this is a great opportunity to check him out if he's in your area. You can check out his tour dates here. And if you're in the greater Central Florida area, I'll see you at the show at the Plaza on March 10th. Don't miss out!
TR3 is one of the more entertaining acts you can ever see live; not only in terms of music but also in entertainment value. And for a 3-piece band, they put out a big sound live. And yes, Tim does talk. You'll just have to go check him out for yourself to hear what he has to say.
