Have You Seen TR3 Live Yet?

Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Tour News on 3/11/11 3:16pm

Well... have you had the pleasure of seeing TR3 live yet on their 2011 tour? What are you waiting for? The Tim Reynolds fronted band is still on tour around the country. And if they are in a 10 hour drive of your humble abode, you owe it to yourself to check them out.

There aren't too many bands that put on a live show quite like TR3, from the hard rocking sounds to the hilarious banter from Tim (yes, he talks!), to the crazy happenings at the show, it's well worth the price of admission. The tour - with some Tim solo acoustic dates around New York mixed in - continues up into June, so you can segue from TR3 right to Dave Matthews Band for their first Caravan stop. Check em out if they're in your neck of the woods! The TR3 tour continues through Florida with a stop at the Seminole Casino on March 11 outside of Ft. Lauderdale.

A Bunch of Tour Dates that Are NOT DMB

Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Tour News on 3/1/11 6:10pm

I know, everyone is waiting for the Dave Matthews Band tour news, but there is plenty of other happenings with band members to keep you satisfied in the mean time.

Dave Matthews will be appearing with Blue Man Group April 13 at Ashton Street Theater in New York. You may recall that Dave sang with the boys in blue on Sing Along (there's a link to the song in the above link). The tickets ain't cheap, but it's a fund raiser for the Blue School.

Stefan Lessard has formed yet another band, Secret Stash. They are performing two shows in Vermont; March 12 at Stratton Mountain Resort in Stratton (fittingly enough). Tickets are $40 for that one, but food and drinks are included in the donation price (benefiting the Chill Foundation). March 13 they play at the famous Pickle Barrel Nightclub in Killington. Tickets are $35 for that one. Secret Stash is Stefan, along with Eric Fawcett from Spy Mob and N*E*R*D; Brett Scallions from FUEL and Warren DeMartini from RATT. And "special guests" are promised, so those shows should be awesome.

Jeff Coffin is touring with his fantastic Mu'tet jazz ensemble. The tour begins March 1 (which may be today if you're reading this now) in Washington, D.C., and runs through April 30 at the University of Northern Colorado. Coffin has links to his performances on his official site (navigate from the above link) and check him out if he's in your area!

Tim Reynolds is also touring now. And don't forget, good people of Florida, TR3 is at The Plaza March 10. And all of your favorite Central Florida Ants will be there (I will additionally be there). And we'll give away some Ants swag to those that come up and say 'hi'. So make sure you catch TR3 regardless of where you are, because they put on an incredible live show, but especially don't miss the March 10 show at The Plaza! The TR3 tour runs until June 10 in Newport News, VA.

Interview with Tim From Vegas

Posted by Jake Vigliotti in Band Side Projects on 12/28/09 9:53am

Tim Reynolds was kind enough to grant an interview while in Las Vegas with the Sun-Sentinel, a South Florida based periodical. And writer Mike Rothman was kind enough to loan the interview to us. Tim covers a number of topics, as he often does, and gives a nice history of his band and his playing, including some tid-bits on the Dave and Tim shows. Assisting in the interview is Corey Martignetti, who is a big DMB fan in his own right (hence the DMB focused questions)

Have a read here to find out a little bit more about Tim.

Tim Reynolds & TR3 Touring - DMB Studio Quotes

Posted by Joe M in Album News on 1/28/09 5:00am

Tim Reynolds appears set for a very busy 2009. He started off 2009 working in the studio and contributing to the new Dave Matthews Band album and he's not stopping there. Today at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO Tim and his band, TR3, kick off a new tour, primarily in west coast and three in the Midwest. Currently a 23-show month-long tour, more dates are likely to be added as Tim expects to end in Charlotte, NC (his new home) around March 7th. The tour will promote the brand new TR3 album, Radiance, which was recorded at Haunted Hollow Studios, Dave Matthews Band’s Charlotesville, VA studio. If TR3 doesn’t make it near you, not to worry, Tim has an ambitious plan of bringing the TR3 band along the DMB tour and playing side gigs, late-night shows, and likely opening a few tour dates [foreshadow summer tour dates here].

Additionally, in a recent interview Tim has given some insight to how the new album recording is coming along. "It's been pretty nice in New Orleans," Reynolds said. "It's just great that I have the opportunity to wake up every day and get inspired by new music that comes my way. This new record will be familiar sounding, but there will be some new twists", as he talks about the addition of Jeff Coffin (sax) and Rashawn Ross (trumpet). "I think we'll bring a fresh burst of sound to the band. We have Rob Cavallo producing us… He's really pushing the DMB and it's already very interesting."
