Very good performance, Everyday-->36-->Ants was awesome; brought back the fell of the Red Rocks days. New tunes sounded good again, nice to hear out of my hands. LLD, Watchtower were incredible and PNP-->Rapunzle was absolutly rediculous, couldn't ask for a better second night from the band. The stone was also a big highlight. The only thing that sucked was the assholes who ran on stage during the encore; stupid fucks.

Hartford is one big concrete oven...I also dont like having policemen videotape me for 5 minutes at a time. Dont wear tye-dye to Hartford, you will get recorded. this show made me want the SPAC dates to hurry up and get here. Decent show though, just not a great one for me to start the tour with.

Show started out great - a good set list, then it went to heavy into Stand Up. I am not against the CD I just wanted to hear a better mix of other album's.
This is also the show when the two or three idiots got on stage. Another day in Hartford!

It was a fantastic performance from my vantage point in the front row. The band was on, and Rashawn Ross added some extra magic. Dave also kept his cool just before the ODH encore when two boneheads rushed the stage.

I came from MA to see this one. They treated us GOOOOOD. Loved the slow jams of Crush, LLD, and Bartender awesome awesome. PNP>Rapunzel was crazy and so was R&R and Granny. Not a total fan of Stand up but i love em all live (cept for hunger) Out of my Hands and Die Trying were esp awesome. Unfortunately alot of CT fans on the lawn suck ass and arent into the music but whatev i had a blast.

Much better than N1. Disappointed in that there were no tour debuts in Hartford. Rapunzel rocked with the trombone dude. And of course we had the drunked idiots storming the stage. Hartford crowd gets a definite thumbs down. Average fan was 17 years old, drunk, and a high school dropout.

One of the challenges of touring a new album is the balance of introducing new live material while playing time tested classics. The Dave Matthews Band found a good balance between new and old to close out their stay at the ctnow.com Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford, CT. The band had a strong opener with “Everyday”, the packed audience joined in with the #36 outro. “Ants Marching” came in as a surprise, a song that typically finds its way towards the end of the set came in at #2 and got the crowd to their feet very quickly. After two strong openers, the band then snuck in “Dreamgirl” and followed with “The Stone”. “Rhyme and Reason” gave Dave a chance to show the pure emotion that is conveyed in the song. Louisiana Bayou was a catchy tune that has potential to become a new crowd favorite. The chorus “down by the bayou” is accented so carefully to give it a likeable syncopated beat. Dave placed two longer songs in the middle with “Bartender” and “Crush”. The two songs went on for over 29 minutes total. As always the jams were kept with a strong pace that did not make the audience away that they were jamming away for an extended period of time. Dave then mixed in additional new songs with “Stand Up”, “You Might Die Trying”, and “Hunger For the Great Light”. He then closed with “Pantala Naga Pampa” and “Rapunzel” a great choice for a strong song to finish the set. The encore included a new song “Old Dirt Hill” and a regular closing piece “All Along the Watchtower”. Dave has quickly embraced the new material on his new album, effectively blending it into tonight’s set, creating a cohesive a energizing production.

I really enjoy Every Day > Ants, and to open the show this way really got the enthusiasm pumping... and it kept on going the whole show.
As a taper, I was blocking one of the side screens, and the DMB crew was polite and helpful in helping me adjust to not ruin the experience for others, glad I could help them as well.
The fans around me were a little more drunk and crasier than the night before, but we all had a good time.
The set list was a much better mix than the night before. The new CD was not as over played, but there were a few repeats, and with such a depth of albums to pick from, I can only hope that the mix of older songs continues to make it back into the set list more often.
I was glad that they were able to adjust Rashawn's trumpet mic tonight, as you can actually hear him play tonight.
The energy from the band was good again tonight, and the set list rather well varied amongst different CDs enough to please most any DMB fan, IMHO.
Looking forward to Hershey next weekend, see you all there!

Decent night but not great. Weird crowd. Very loud and very into DMB. Maybe too much so. Why would anyone jump on stage and rush Dave? show started out strong and lost momentum in parts. Decent solid show but not anywhere near the top of my list.

2nd Best show I've seen behind Dave and Tim. Great energy right from the start with an old school Everyday/36 > Ants. Great set list. The 34 tease before Crush, sickening. Great Stand Up songs again. I called a lot of the songs which made for a fun time. Great encore. Saw the band leave after the show. Randall's Island, my tenth show, here we come.

this show was absolutely insane. i swear every time dave comes to the meadows he plays everyday and has the crowd sing the #36 intro " honey, honey, come and dance with me...' absolutley insane.. crsu was a highlight as was ants marching as a second song the energy could not have been higher. Nice mix of the new stuff very fortuante to hear stand up carter kicked major ass on the drums and the encore of old dirt hill (one of my favs on the new album) and of course all along the watchtower was just crazy! I was so happy he played an encore though after those 4 morons practically ambushed him on stage i hope they dont ruin it for the rest of us....otherwise absolutely amazing show one of the best so far. Plus he played Granny..yeah nuff said.

46th show since 1996 and definitely one of the best. The band is clearly having a great time together. I would guess that the collaborative effort to put the new album together has rejuvenated their relationship to the benefit of us all. It was fun to see Dave and Boyd gather around with Stefan to watch Rashawn Ross and 'Roi during their solos. Carter, as usual, was simply a percussion God driving everything forward. I am truly blown away every time I focus on him. SPAC, Boston, Randall's and the Gorge to go, WOOHOO!

This show was awesome. SO much better than last nite's show. The #36/Everyday to start was amazing and before that could even sink in, you just hear the snare tap of Ants Marching. Can't ask for a much better first 2 than that. Dreamgirl was ok, but i heard it both nites. But then the fun picked back up when you hear the guitar intro of The Stone. Amazingly great song. Some in the crowd were fooled at the end and started clapping before they could bust out the loud ending. Rhyme + Reason was a good selection, got the crowd going even more. Bayou was pretty good as well. Bartender mellowed the crowd out but the bass picked right up into Crush. That was just a fun song to listen to. Granny was great to hear, as you can only hear it live. The set mellowed out after that with three slower songs in a row. Lover Lay Down was clutch, and then the PNP>>Rapunzel was an awesome way to finish the set. The encore was great. You can never be mad about AATW......Good weekend overall though. Wish we heard #41, What You Are, and Tripping Billies. Oh well, hopefully next year!

Bought ticket upgrade for the pavillion, chilled stone sober and all fucked off during Lover Lay Down and Dreamgirl cause my female has fucked off. Still interesting show though. Enjoyed Old Dirt Hill, the jam at the end of You Might Die Trying seemed to fizzle involuntarily. The fans that rushed Dave before the encore were tools, but Dave was skillful making fun of them. The meadows are awesome.

Dave and Co. got the crowd into it right away with Everyday, and brought the house down with Ants... a mere two songs into the show! Boyd brought his absolute A-game, while LeRoi seemed to have trouble with his mic and remembering the notes to Lover Lay Down. A fantastic show, marred only by the two assholes who accosted Dave before the start of the encore, but Dave saved the show by making fun of a discarded sandal left behind by one of the hooligans. (Come back to CT, DMB, we're not all goons!)

This show was amazing. After last night's so-so set this made up for all that and more. Everyday into ants was spectacular all the way through watchtower at the end. By the way, after the band got on stage for the encore what appeared to be 4 "fans" climbed onto the stage and attemped to get to dave. 2 were immediately taken down by security and the other 2 quickly followed. Dave commented that one guy left his shoe and will now have a hard time explaining to his mom why he came home with no shoe but that they let him keep his hat. Great weekend as always at the meadows in ct.

Good show except for the morons on stage! I lived in CT for about 25 years until moving north so I can say this without hesitation: WHY THE HELL DO THEY ALLOW MORONS TO PROCREATE AND PRODUCE EVEN MORE MORONS AND EVEN WORSE, WHY DO THEY ALL SEEM TO GO TO THE MEADOWS?
Seriously, stay off the stage! No one wants see you up there! I have been to about 15 shows and at the Meadows for about 8 of those shows (because it's the closest venue). It has to be the worst venue because there are so many fools who go to the show! Please, if you don't know more than have of the songs that they play, don't come! It's more than annoying to be sitting around people who are more concerned with how much they drank, how much they want to smoke, or the best, combining the two!
Well enough of the rant, if it wasn't for the the fools at the Meadows, the show was pretty good. The band had a lot of fun and the songs had a great deal of energy. Everyday into Ants, I could have gone home then!!!! Watchtower was strong, and the new songs were pretty good as well. The only song that I hoped he'd never play, Out of My Hands, was actually ok. See you next year, if they come back!

Freakin' incredible! Aside from the foot deep mud/beer/piss/god-knows-what-else muck covering the 'lawn', The whole band put on an amzing performance. It was a pain in the ass to deal with all the security measures (due to all the previous trouble in Hartford, which left us without any blankets to put on top of that horrible muck, or any caps on our drinks, but once Dave started playing no one cared anymore. I think it was a good mix of old and new, and he made some of the songs from Stand Up that I never thought were any good (Stand Up, Louisiana Bayou) sound so great. And of course he also played some classics, and when the bassline to crush started, the crowd (me included) went absolutely nuts. Boyd got a lot of time for typically amazing solos, and he did not dissappoint. All things considered, it was definitely worth the ride from Boston.
