I love Dave.......but the bathroom facilities are not the greatest!!!!Did you pee in your poncho as many times as I did. And wow! It rained just at the moment he played JTR!

oh man what a day... well after getting into New Orleans a little after midnight and hitting up Bourbon Street a little while, i headed over to the fair grounds at about 3 or 4 am... everyone at the gates was amazing, and everyone up in the front row with me was great too! god this show blew away last year's show (which was the worst show i'd ever seen)... it was the best show i'd seen for a while, but i mean coming off of boston and philly it wasn't too hard to top no OSW intro, Pig was nice Hunger was lame as usual, but still had energy Recently included an outro Old Dirt Hill - ummm :o( snooozzzze American Baby intro - ROCKING! Everyday, standard but great, lots of energy Smooth Rider - THE EDGE!!!! Jimi - standard but fun, scat was entertaining Bayou, well no Robert Randolph... but JTR!!!!!

After last year's soaking wet jazz festival, this was a welcomed treat - to just be there, mostly dry. The rain did come, ironically duing JTR which made the song THAT much more fun to sing. Almost praise even. Rain down on me. And it did.

very good show, his setlist was better last year but it was still a very good show

My first DMB show and it was great! I was hoping to hear older stuff, but it was awesome seeing The Edge...and rain coming down for JTR capped the night off right. Great experience!

We were in the Big Chief VIP seats which, although tented and padded seats, were far away from stage. Did it beat being closer and standing in the heat and dirty wind that day?? Hmmm, can't decide? They were awesome and the Edge coming out to join them for one song was a little special bonus.

Predicted the OSW opener as did many, and was happy to see Pig. Old Dirt Hill and Hunger were better than on the album (ofcourse) but still not up there with the old stuff. although I was particularly impressed with the American Baby Intro that went on for a good bit, very strong. Billies and Jimi were pretty standard though the scat was cool. We all knew LA Bayou was coming out at some point, good to see it at the end. JTR was amazing as all have mentioned, different lyrics than last time I heard it live, then again what's new about that? Wish I could go to another '06 show.

we got a messed up billies but they came back and said "alright nevermind we remember now." we got the smoothest smooth rider ever, and we got a very unique jimi thing. to top it off the return of JTR will go down as the best ever.

FRONT ROW! The whole show was amazing.... Everything from the One Sweet World opener to The Edge guesting on Smooth Rider to JTR for the first time in 5 years just as the rain started coming down... WOW! Afterwards I was going to get in my car to leave and me and my sister spotted Dave and Carter hanging out of the window... we carried on a conversation with the whole band for 5 minutes as they were stuck in traffic... Best moment of my life

Good, not great, show & set list. The 'Tripping Billies' had a coupla notable lyrical gaffs, but everyone relegated them to laughter, so nothing seriously detrimental to the show. Seeing The Edge onstage with DMB was awesome, but I personally would have liked some signature guitar work from him ala Trey last year at Randall Island, or Warren in Central Park. 'Smooth Rider' did work with The Edge on lead, but I would have liked an identifiable solo, or perhaps Dave doing some U2. JazzFest is always great, so no worries, but the set last year was definitely tighter. 'Everyday' was a very strong version this year, as was 'Jimi Thing'. All in all a satisfying set that teased at what might have been.

Solid show, wish the set could have been longer, but it was a festival. OSW opener was standard but nice. Pig was great to hear for the first time. It was cool that the Edge guested but I didn't think he added much to a pretty weak tune. The JTR encore blew me the hell away. They didn't even sound that rusty on it to me.

I just got back from New Orleans and I'm still in disbelief at how great this show was. The whole stew of ingredients - New Orleans post Katrina, DMB's first show of the year, rain clouds that waited until the exact right time to pour down during JTR "rain down on me" , the EDGE, girls gone wild on bourbon street - all mixed together into one funky jambalaya of a weekend. Check out my pictures from the show at http://www.pbase.com/hkcliffy/dmb_at_new_orleans_jazz_fest_2006

JTR!!! They played it like they had never stopped playing it. Perfect comdtions for that type of show. Windy all time cloudy the majority of the time with some gaps of sunshine and rain at the perfect time. Thanks guys

Man JTR, Pig, Great! I don't know what happened on Tripping Billies (no one's perfect). Just seeing them bring back JTR was enough for me. Still too many Stand Up songs but I thought it was a great show. Can't wait to see 'em twice in NC.

jazzfest in new orleans.. the COMPLETE devastation of new orleans was more than i ever anticipated.. we missed all of jazzfest (except DMB!!) to document the area, and report the current situation to every available media source in the country - I GOT TERRIFIC responses by the way... the band was just as 'surprised'and affected by the area's appearance, as seen and heard in their performance. but as always - the release i NEEDED to get thru another day on this planet. thank you DMB

It was great. the show got off to a slow start but they picked up the pace with everday. then the show exploded when the edge showed up for an awesome smoothe rider. then it started to rain and they finished with a perfect rain song....JTR in other words.... the show was BEAST!!!!!!!

Weather held out until the very end and then it started raining right when JTR kicked in with "...rain....rain .... rain down on me..." it was incredble. Great festival being as it was the first after good ol' katrina...that whore. Anywho, loved it as always.

DMB with The Edge! Awesome show and a true landmark for a city that needed it. Almost made up for Katrina forcing me to relocate my wedding. New Orleans still needs our help. Visit often.
