As a big fan, this show was the most memorable and most amazing so far. It has to do with what happened AFTER the show. I decided to sell my Santa Barbara tickets and instead fork out the extra dough and head to the Wiltern. It makes sense, smaller venue, indoors, can't beat it. Found floor tickets for $200/ea. That theater is great inside, much smaller than I thought. This was my second time seeing Dave and Tim and they played a great set. So after the show I headed to the parking garage next door and saw Dave's bus, there was a small fence blocking it off and about 50 people waiting (autographs I assumed). I decided to let the garage empty out and try my luck and see if Dave would come out. Timmy darted out about 45 min after the show, signed a couple things then took off. You could see Dave's twin girls playing on the bus. Sure enough about an hour and a half after the show everyone busted out cameras and Dave walked out!! Upon leaving the Wiltern they gave everyone a post-card sized black and white of Dave so he was signing those for everyone. I made my way to the right where he started and got that signed. Then went back to the left side hoping he would make it down that way. He didn't say much but signed for everyone. When he made it down to the left all I had was a guitar pick (I always have one in my pocket). He somehow signed it and it definitely topped off a great evening.

Very nice. Very intimate theatre, great venue. Was in the balcony and still felt very close. Best of the three shows, went to Santa Barbara both nites and this was the best energy and feel... One odd thing happened, tho, there was a couple in the row front of me, and when my g/f went to the loo, the fella turns around and says: "no disrespect, but we don't know the words to all the songs, so could you please quit singing?" Wha ??? I'm pretty sure my voice is OK, but I did my best to quiet down(since I'd never heard anyone say anything like that at the 20 or so shows I've seen), so I sat there, sort of taken back, now humming under my breath, only slightly irritated, although my humming was getting drowned out by all the other thousands of people singing around me... don't sing at a D&T show? Hmmmm. That's darn hard to do! .... Anyhow, the couple left after three more songs, so I guess they were newbies... or maybe I've lost my ear and even my humming sucks more than I thought! Quel strange!

This was my first D&T show, so that alone was good enough to get me going. But like I said I didn’t go into the show with high expectations, but I still do get excited about the show and the unknown. With that, here we go… First off, the venue is great; I have been there before so I knew that it was going to be intimate. The crowd for the most part was respectful. I had heard that people like to yell stuff during the show, and they did. It does get annoying. You have the chance to hear Dave ramble on about aimless stuff, quite down and listen. It is pretty funny stuff. The set list was pretty much a mirror of the other three shows, with the order of songs being the only difference. Love the solo stuff, especially Some Devil and Stay or Leave. Tim’s solo song was cool. Medley of the Beatles Come Together and Neil Young’s Ohio. The crowd tried to sing along, but most didn’t know the all the words. The cover tunes were great. Always good to hear #41, Two Step and Nancies. In the end, it was a standard, yet solid set list and show. Nothing overly special. People talk about the magic of a D&T show. It is special; you get to hear the songs in a stripped down, original form. But for some reason it didn’t knock my socks off like I thought it would. Can’t really put my finger on it. Maybe deep down, I made the mistake of hoping for more then what I saw. I had thoughts of Warehouse, the Stone, and maybe a special rare song. The first two songs had been played this tour. The rare song, we all hope for that. I guess I let it get to deep in to my head and got my hopes up. I will defiantly go to another D&T show. This was not my last. Maybe this spring? Tim is an amazing guitar player, but I think I like the whole band taking their shots in a show. I would love to see him on tour with the whole band again joining in on that fun. Sorry for the long review. Wanted to express my thoughts to the people out there. I know that it won’t be a popular review to read for some, but I wanted to me honest. Feel free to offer your own opinions.
