Travelled from Pittsburgh for this show and it was worth the trip. Loved Nissan Pavillion and the show was awesome. Loved the show and Everyday was elevated by the addition of A Vusi Mahlasela. good good times and hope to make another road trip to Nissan.

They sounded great; albeit a very much a mid-tempo set. Great to hear SUAD in concert! Thanks Guys! Liked #27,CB, Shotgun, and of course The Idea of You. But when the set starts out with OSW followed by Bartender; the tone was set there. Again, they sounded great, just not one of my favorite shows.

I realize most fans who live in the Baltimore/DC/VA area are aware of this from previous experiences at Nissan Pavillion, but do yourself a favor and get to the venue EARLY (4/5 hours before showtime). I'm reading a few reviews where people are saying that they didn't get to the show until Warehouse or Too Much. Not to be mean, were you honestly expecting to walk in and out of a sold out hometown DMB show at Nissan, a venue notorious for its horrendous traffic issues? It may seem like a little much, but do you and your friends a HUGE favor and spend the $25 and get into the VIP lots. My friends and I have parked there for the last 2 years and it has been a breeze getting in and out.

As far as the show, most disappointing I've ever been a part of. I'm not as much of a veteran as most of the people on this site, but even an inexperienced fan can look at this set and almost feel cheated compared to some of the other nights. I mean c'mon, a set like this for the hometown fans? Give me a break!

Oh, and leave "Toots" and the fat guy who bellowed during Everyday backstage next time. They both brought nothing to the table during their songs except poor dancing and confused looks.

Here's to next year!

Sweet up & Down made my VIP tickets worth every penny! i hate Nissan pavilion as a venue because of the parking but VIP is the way to go for anyone else out there who HATES going to Nissan...

New stuff is one thing, but at least give us some all time favs then. Shotgun lived up to it's reputation and I was excited to hear #27 even though it was a gurantee to be played. But put those in with songs like Sweet Up and Down, The Maker, The Idea of You... and you've got the average Dave fan sitting at a concert not knowing a single word. I was thrilled to hear and quite surprised with the playing of Bayou one of my favorite songs from Stand Up. But still, I felt the concert lacked a good Ants, Crash, or Watchtower. Call me jealous after seeing the setlist the concert before, but let's at least hope this array of new songs debuted will at least go big with the next album.

They never cease to amaze me! Each time I see them they sound better. And every time I see them I say to myself theres no way they can get better than this. But DMB is like a musical muscle. They keep getting bigger and stronger every time they work out on stage. This was another incredible "homecoming" show. peace and blessings.

MY 17th SHOW. Had a great time. Did the Dave "reality tour" the day before, hitting up the warehouse and Miller's in Charlottesville. If you like radio songs and the old stuff, this show wasn't for you. I was glad to hear 4 songs for the first time. Best version of Everyday ever?

Kind of a choppy show, with a peculiar setlist,

OSW heard it way to many times to open up,
YMDT was nice in the two slot, but igured this would be the closest I get to LIOG all night and I was right,
Hunger is a great pick-up here was alot of energy
#27 never heard it before :)
Warehouse...great to hear always especially this early
The Maker...very privlidged to be able to hear this played live.
Corn Bread...Love the D&T version, I wish that i had known this song that night at Nissan looking back
Shotgun....Great..wish they had someone transcibing the lyrics though...a very poetic song if you can realy make out what is being said
ASTB..TOO MUCH....Good pick-up nothing special
Sister...Very moving..beautiful to hear in this spot.
Idea Of YOU...great new song....I never tire of this one.
Bartender...seems like we get one everyyear at Nissan right, I don't think anything will top the 04 version.
Everyday:...personally one of the highlights of the night,,I feel VUSI puts this song were it should be and gives it a real worldly feel.
Sweet Up And Down::: Nice glad to hear...an old lillywhite classic
Bayou;......Put this song on the shelf
STAY...Wish that i could

Gravdigger into Two Step....Are you kidding me, the literally take you from the epitamy of your grave to the top of the world..grief into bliss..I thought the combo for an encore takes a middle of the road show and really puts it up a notch, we always seem to get two step at Nissan and this one sends every-one home happy again...

I got to tailgate a little bit at the show which was cool and the crowd seemed a lot more laid back than that night before. Overall I was very impressed with this show for a number of reasons. One was the amount of repeats from the night before. On top of that, a lot of those repeats aren't on the top of my most liked list. Die Trying, Hunger, #27, Shotgun, Sister, and Idea of You just weren't as interesting as the night before which tells me their quality isn't as good as most of the other songs in DMB's catalog. A song that I do love, Warehouse, was probably the worst version I've ever seen, due to a horrible guest in Toots Hibbert. It was so bad I felt embarrassed for the guy. He was so lost there and kept singing at the wrong parts. I didn't mind hearing Bayou again but it wasn't as good as the night before. I'm not a big fan of One Sweet World full band either. Much better Dave and Tim. Cornbread, ASTB->Too Much, Bartender, Sweet Up and Down, Stay, Gravedigger and Two Step were all good, but I wasn't to enjoy them in full due each person in my row coming in and out at least two full times. It was a constant parade and I easily had the worst row around me. So annoying. Getting out of the lot was a pain, but I'm still glad I went. It was my first time at the venue and I always like adding new venues to my list of places I've been.

Great show, One sweet world is a great first song whenever its played. Warehouse was great with Toots busten out louie louie with carter and butch. Lots of new and unrealsed songs, which personaly i loved, but the crowd was hoping for more classics. The band made up for it with an amazing Bartender with a great solo by butch, followed by the chase of rashawn and Roi on penny whistle. we also got a great encore and did i mention Sweet up and Down??!!!

Also, if you ever go to a show at this venue, LEAVE EARLY!!!!!!!! me and my friends thought leaving at 430 from our hotel would give us plenty of time to get there but it wasn't! so much traffic we missed Toots. So leave early and tailgate so you arent dissapointed!

Here is my disclosure for this review: I enjoyed with show from front row center.
Nissan Pavilion welcomed the Dave Matthews Band for its 13th gig in Bristow with a sold out crowd of 25,000 fans. Dave and company came prepared with an expanded band lineup which included regular guests Butch Taylor on keyboards and Rashawn Ross on trumpet. In the eighth day of a non-album promoting tour, the band chose to spread their set list towards unreleased songs and material from their most recent album “Stand Up”.

The set kicked off with One Sweet World and quickly went into newer material (You Might Die Trying, Hunger for the Great Light, #27) With a diverse audience made up of different fans, the first quarter of the set was sure to leave fans of “Crash” and “Under the Table and Dreaming” wanting more. They did get their satisfaction when Dave followed up with Warehouse. Another run of unreleased songs followed with The Maker, Corn Bread, and Shotgun. The Maker stood out for me, a catchy tune that the band executed with class. Shotgun is showing signs of polish in its second year of touring (the same can be said of The Idea of You which was played later in the set.) Both songs are reaching a level where the entire band is truly coming together in musical contribution. I enjoyed listening to Sister, yet another song dedicated to Jane; it is sung primarily with Dave with one key background vocal contribution from the other members. Everyday was one of the highlights of the night. Dave introduced African artist Vusi Mahlasela to join and he provided amazing background vocals that brought the song back to its album splendor. Unlike previous performances where Everyday included a lengthy #36 intro, the lyrics to the older song were brought in and out during the song. The audience once again played backup with their “Hani Hani” chanting. Sweet Up and Down has made a big come back on this tour and the song did not show and signs of gathering dust on the shelf. The band entertained thousands with some non-album songs for this non-album tour. While it may have been nice to hear a Dancing Nancies, Crash, or Ants Marching; all fans were entertained by the emotion and energy the band put into all their songs for the set. As always Dave Matthews Band continues to please their many hometown fans in Virginia.

The band should consider not playing at this venue again...there was a strong majority of fans who didn't make it in until the concert was nearly half over due to the poor traffic planning. Overall, I was able to get there at Too Much...the show was good...however it's tough to beat the 8/8 show in Camden...most of the songs have been pretty consistent throughout the tour except for last Wed.

This show was average at best. VERY predictable setlist.

Highlights:
One Sweet World opener was great. Awesome energy.

Shotgun was the best since Charlottesville 2006.

Midset from Idea of You through Sweet Up and Down was awesome!! Bartender had a ton of energy and Everyday was the best it's ever been without a doubt.

Low Points:
Worst Warehouse ever. Toots was terrible.

Louisiana Bayou and Stay: DMB please stop playing these songs. They would be great if they were played every 3rd or 4th show, but hearing them every show is getting very old.

Overall, this was a fun show (as are all DMB shows) but the band did not test themselves in terms of mixing songs up. We all love this band because of their ability to mix things up and the variety of emotion in their music, which is exactly what was lacking during this show.

After experiencing the incredible night 2 at Camden on Wednesday, this show really didn't have a chance of matching up. I'm a firm believer that all Dave shows are good on some level. Especially compared to about every other band out there live. But when you've been to as many shows as I've been to, you start to get a little spoiled. This show didn't really have anything special and had a very similar set list as all the other shows so far this summer. Dave and company must not tire of #27, Cornbread, Shotgun and Idea of You very easily. They all sound great and have tons of potential but lets try to mix it up a little bit and maybe put Two Step on the shelf for a while. What about Pig, Stone, Halloween, JTR or one of the other rare songs that the group was hitting a bunch last summer. Last Stop or Raven would be a nice change. Overall though, I'm always happy to see the guys. And another definite is that Nissan has the worst traffic situation out of any place I've ever been to bar none. It is a F*CKING NIGHTMARE every year.

I had heard that you should get there early, I didn't realize it needed to be 4 (or more) hours before the show!

I'm really disappointed that Burgettstown got to see Grey Street, Crush, and an excellent encore set with Some Devil, American Baby Intro, and All Along the Watchtower, where as our rather monotonous and predictable only spared us from boredom periodically with a really confusingly awkward performance of Warehouse with Toots (not really the kind of song for a guest) and a novel but rather unenergetic Everyday with Vusi. Oh, we also got to hear Gravedigger, but overall, a pretty disappointing set list (the least "rare" of the shows I've seen).

I'm just glad I have three Gorge shows to hopefully see some favorites (Crush, Crash Into Me, Best of What's Around, Dancing Nancies, Seek Up, Ants Marching, etc.) and some rare ones (Dreaming Tree, Big Eyed Fish, and the like).

Come to think of it, Gravedigger was a great treat, but then no Ants Marching, just a rather short and tame Two Step? Yes, I can't wait for the Gorge.

Very average to good show. It was great to hear #27 and the Maker along with the best performance of the night Everyday-36 WOW!! The band is trying new things and I feel it is very mixed. After you have been to many shows you tend to want more and more, it's a no brainer,, they are good and we all know they can be better when they want too.

Just got back to Kansas City and looking forward to the show here then off to the gorge! I'll try to make the best of it until later this month! Have a good good time.

He had no idea what was going on and looked like a fool - brought the whole song down, they were trying to dumb it up so he could join in.

Definitely didn't measure to the past two that I have attended. I'm a little biased because the setlist didn't have some of my favorites on it, and the guests he had up there, while enjoyable, really didn't seem to do that much. I also think it had alot to do with the fact that I was sitting so far away and so the sound was off with the lights and stuff. But aside from all that, it's the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND! They still put on a hell of a show.

This was my first show of the tour so my review may be a little much. I absolutely loved this show. For my "first of the tour" show, it was by far superior to any of years past. My best friend and my girlfriend have seen DMB a combined 32 times (mostly since 2004) so we've become sadly aware of what to expect. I was a bit disappointed with One Sweet World as an opener seeing as all of the other shows this year had amazing intros. That being said, I was thrilled to see the band again. I was even happy to see Hunger for the Great light for the 12th time. The energy was amazing, Warehouse with Toots Hibbert was fantastic and the biggest shocker of the night (side from SUAD) was a special appearance by Vusi Mahlasela on Everyday, which set the Nissan Pavillion on fire and made this show seem really special. I love all of the new traxx (Shotgun in particular) so I wasn't downed by the heavy congestion of them. The energy of the show went up and down as the group wanted it too. When it was slow, it was REALLY slow. But when the pace picked up, the roof nearly blew off the pavillion. HIGHLIGHTS: Warehouse (w/Toots), Shotgun, Bartender, Everyday (w/ Vusi Mahlasela), Stay and the amazing closer TWO STEP! Can't wait for this Wednesday @ VA BEACH!

The music was a 3.75, but the venue was a -17. You could have flown to Tokyo in the time it took to get in and out of Nissan. Enjoyed a handful of songs, including Everyday, Sweet Up and Down and Two Step. I normally love Warehouse, but Toots ruined it. He was insufferably awful. Out of rhythm, out of tune, it was like watching someone with Musical Tourette's syndrome. Rashawn on the other hand had some sweet solos. Overall, I agree with what someone else wrote about this not being a show for "fair-weather" fans. They really tried to avoid radio hits, but I guess you get that from time to time.

What a great show to cap off a beautiful day. The day settled in to a nice evening, and eventually into a gorgeous night time setting. A lot different weather from last year's show. Highlites include: Warehouse (with Toots).. AWESOME! very high energy. #27, and cornbread continue to shine early on this tour, especially cornbread, this song continues to grow with the fans. Gravedigger, and Two Step at the end were awesome! But the highlite of the night had to be Everyday with Vusi. (yes, I said it.) I've always been kind of been reserved with this song, but it really earned a place in my heart during this show. Vusi came out and sounded much more confident then the recording from SPAC from last year. Everything came together so well for the 8 minutes or so this song was played and the setting under the stars on a beautiful evening only made this moment that much better. With this in mind, I continue to see people bashing the shows, because they were not satisfied with the setlist. This is very disapointing. Some "fans" need to understand there is more to a performance than the setlist. Everyone has different tastes, this is what happens when a band hangs around for so long, they develop a wide variety of music and do their best to send each fan home content with what they experienced. When people get together and bitch it ruins the vibe for the whole show. Some of these unsatisfied fans should have respect for the fact that this band has been playing their hearts out for years, and enjoy the "performance." Who knows, you might warm up to a newer song or two, if you actually LISTEN to it. I mean you're at the show, might as well, it's better then pouting and ruining other people's time who do enjoy the newer tunes. I'm not going to ramble on this anymore. I don't mean to get mad, please just be respectful for the newer fans that are just experiencing these guys, don't turn them off, before they get a chance to find out what DMB's about. See everyone up in Saratoga. The tour's heating up, and It's my first time out there so I'm pretty excited. Peace.

I am so sick of hearing the "crash" and radio friendly song fans complain about not hearing all those songs during a show. Personally I would like to hear a show that had no songs from any album on it because they are rarely played. All these people complain that there are no fan favs played during a show and then they will be the same people who complain when they hear WAYG. Just enjoy the show and the whole band. However, I will agree with many of those who feel the toots and the other guy should have stayed back stage. Warehouse was the worst ever. I dont think he had heard the song before and dave had to go into louie louie just to get him to familiar ground. What a mess.

this was my first dmb show ever. we were driving down from silver spring, md, and we hit the worst traffic in my history. we ended up getting there just as they started to play 'anyone seen the bridge?' which was half way through the show. this show was the first time my bro and i had ever heard bartender, louisiana bayou, sister and the current version of everyday.

so while we missed half the show and were in pretty sour moods, it did push us further into the world of the dave matthews band, because the next day, still upset about missing half the show, i jokingly said to my brother, "you know, they're playing again in VA Beach in a couple days... we should go."

he stared straight for a few seconds, then looked up at me with one of those 'epiphany' looks, and we both knew we were going. so i bought us all tickets and bought live trax vol. 6 (fenway) which had all the stuff we didn't really know. we took off, caught the show, stayed the night, and listened to fenway the whole way. it was a great experience:)

12. Count 'em, 12 songs were played during this show that were played last night in Burgettstown. I know that the band is trying to get us to hear their new stuff, which for the most part, I love. Cornbread has to be the funkiest thing I've heard in a good while. But when you repeat the same new songs, with others played the night before in relatively the same order, well that's a little much. This was my 6th show, and it seems every time I see Dave pick up the electric, he plays Bayou, and frankly, I need a break from it. I'm going to the show in Raleigh, so hopefully there will be a little more variety than this one. But don't get me wrong, Burgettstown was an amazing show, I just expected the unexpected like we always do from our C'ville boys.

PS Vusi's awesome

I was a DMB newb at the time, so looking back this show is a little better than I thought with OSW and SUAD. However, the audio was bad and the flow was just strange.

i got some "firsts" at this show....obviously 27 and cornbread. but my first maker and SUAD. i was so excited for the SUAD. i waited for it all show. i thought dave was very emotionally charged. shit, he made me cry 3 dang times. Sister is so beautiful. OSW was a great opener and bartender was big and powerful just like it should be. I loved the super slow mo of 2 much with a great big astb right before it. sure coulda gone without stay, bayou or hftgl, but they were high energy and the band was into it :)

In a word, this was just a standard show. Very typical, run-of-the-mill setlist that he has been playing all tour, and definitely not worth the $200 dollars I paid for 2nd row section 103. Not even a Warehouse "Louie Louie" (sick), Vusi Mahlasela on Everyday (totally unexpected and awesome), and Two Step (Carter is still God) could save this show. I understand that Dave wants to spread the new stuff around, but it's the same night after night: 27, Corn Bread, Shotgun, Idea of You, even Sweet Up And Down. The show was too predictable and too boring, two words that I thought I would never say about DMB. I'm sitting lawn for the rest of my DMB career so that I won't feel so cheated like I did after this show.

Some songs were great others were just good DMB. I especially enjoyed stay for the 7 mins, everyday with vusi, bartender, and die trying was great, (they've done well with it since the stand up tour when i last heard it). They did a cool intro at the beginning of ASTB? which was good. I loved sweet up and down, and cornbread and 27 are both amazing new songs. i especially like cornbread. all in all it was a good show, nothing spectacular.

After the show, I was pretty sure that Sweet Up and Down was particularly badass. Then hearing it on the '07 bonus disk only confirmed it. Dave's friend during Everyday was unique.

I must say that I was pretty dissapointed in this show. By far it is the least favorite of the 9 shows I've been to. I understand playing the new songs (I like #27) but LB is getting so tired for me (heard at every show since Hershey of 05). The only real highlight for me was Warehouse and Two Step. But with this setlist, they looked like they wanted to play the least amount of fan favorites as possible.

Overall a pretty good and fun show. I absoloutely love cornbread, what a jam! A little disappointed overall with the 2 day set of the burgh and bristow but it is what it is. The FUZZ was absoloutely ridiculous in Bristow, I am all about keeping the peace, but not to the point where they acted like they had never seen a good ol' fashioned tailgate. That is why PA is the tailgate state and VA is whatever the hell it is I guess. Thanks for the hospitality though, and the DMB Virginia.
