My 18th show. The band seemed to be very polished and well practiced. I noticed very little confusion or errors. Great flow and precision. Set list was terrific with me seeing Where are you going, Loving Wings, A dream so Real, and Eh Hee for the first time. Dreaming Tree is one of my all itme favs so that was good to hear. Had a great time, took my mom!

solid show. two step was beautiful. cornbread is packed with energy. if two step, say goodbye, and pig weren't old school enough for you... Dave did an amazing dreaming tree. mellow, then screaming in the middle, and a sweet jam. Eh Hee is polished and powerful. the typical situation (truncated) was really interesting. Dave whispered the chorus twice, then the band went into the salsa jam or whatever it's called. Then 7 minutes later they resumed the chorus and ended the song like normally without any verses. Loving wings has grown into a relaxing jam, and I love the end of it. Nancies and Stay were great end of the set songs.

Carter picked up a kid from the crowd and brought him onto the stage and gave him drumsticks right before the intermission, what a story he'll have to tell.

ABI was incredible with a fresh ending jam.... and watchtower got everyone rocking to end the night. thanks, Dave and come back soon!

This show was unbelievably awesome!! My 26th show and one of the top 5. I haven't seen Dreaming Tree since '99 and I've been dying to hear it ever since... incredible. And ABI was outstanding! I've never heard it end like that. Joe Lawlor was great on SU. I was so psyched to hear Loving Wings! It is so awesome in person. And on top of all of that an awesome Two Step, Typical, Nancies, Crush, Watchtower, and Pig. I love Eh Hee! So Damn Lucky to be there!!

Probably one of the better shows of the summer!! Everything was sweet. The weather, the venue, the crowd, and the setlist. The Matthews Band stepped it up tonight and brought some nice favorites. Dreaming Tree was unbelievable with a sweet jam at the end. Plus Loving Wings provided Carter with some sick drum licks. And to top the evening off probably the best version of American Baby intro I've ever heard and then a fiery Watchtower to end what seemed like a perfect night! Amazing show indeed!

This is the fourth show i've been to in the past 2 years and i think the worst of those. the entire band sounded like they were just going through the motions compared to the last couple of times i saw them play... of course, i saw them in charlottesville and at virginia tech in blacksburg 2 weeks ago which were homecoming-type events.

pig and dreaming tree made the evening for me.. and abi straight into watchtower was a perfect encore. i absolutely loved the new jam during abi. dancing nancies was average, as was two step. corn bread and ee hee were awesome. bayou was so-so (the last time i saw it was with robert randolph). does anybody know why joe lawlor didn't come back out for it?

but, it was a dave concert, so i can't be too picky. it was a great night and i had a great time. minus the 4 hour drive back to richmond for class this morning.

This was my first Dave show EVER, so it was just an awesome experience. It sounded great, the people around us were fun to be around. Had a great view of the stage considering we got to the VWC late and the only area really open was near a big column. Had a clear view of Dave, so it was all good! The energy was great from both the band and the fans. Great first concert!

This was my favorite show to this point, and that's saying a lot, since I never go home without being impressed. I was SOOO happy to hear Cornbread and the American Baby Intro. But nothing compared to hearing Say Goodbye (never a staple) and, BY ALL MEANS, Loving Wings!!!

What a show. I can now die a happy man after seeing DMB from the front row thanks to an upgrade from a fellow WH'er. (No one should ever support scalpers or brokers!!!) I took my 7 year old son to the show - his first. Unfortunately he wasn't the kid that Carter pulled up on stage but he still received an experience he'll never forget. (I explained to him that he dreams of going to Disneyland whereas daddy dreams of seeing DMB from the front row. I think he got the point.) Anyhow - great show and set list as always. Just another night to further fuel and justify my DMB addiction.

Very cool for DMB to let the crew member play a song with them. I think he was just as excited as all the fans...and he played his a** off.

One of the top shows I have ever seen. The VIP seat I had was the best view/audio quality I've ever experienced!!! ADSR and Two Step to start the night off was perfect. Pig was a great surprise. Dreaming Tree was unbelievable, what a song!!! Eh Hee rocked and had more energy than expected. Typical was even better than at Raleigh. Nancies was also a great surprise. American Baby Intro is somehow still getting better and this version was unbelievable. The new jam at the end is sick!!! Watchtower was a great way to end an awesome show!! Thanks DMB.

After going to Raleigh the night before and seeing such an amazing show, Charlotte's let me down. It was still an awesome show but was very slow and mellow. Dreaming Tree was incredibly preformed as well as Two Step and Pig. ABI had new horn and piano parts added to it compared to last year's version in Raleigh. The crowd was horrible and killed the mood for most of the show though.

GREAT SHOW!!! A dream so real had me worried b/c that song is slow and mellow, but Dave ended that with 2 Step. Cornbread great energy. I love the drum solo going into Say Goodbye. Pig and Dreaming Tree classics. Typical different intro--great jam. Loving wings slow song, but it worked well. Nancies my favorite DMB song. Great Jam. AMAZING ENCORE 1st time seeing AB intro...always good to end with watchtower.

Only been to Charlotte shows since moving to NC in '01, but this was probably the best one since then. Last year's first hour was really low energy and this was the complete opposite - great energy throughout, with Boyd really coming on strong the last hour. LOVED hearing the new songs live -- I never really seem to appreciate the new stuff until I can see and hear Dave do it live. I also really liked the stage design this tour -- it was like you could see the band better, and I'm not just talking about all the video behind them. It *looked* spectacular in addition to sounding that way. I also liked the way Dave opened several songs alone, quietly, with just the spotlight on him. Really nice mix of the acoustic feel and the full-blown jams. GREAT SHOW!

I'm kind of biased for this show as I got down on one knee and proposed, from the 6th row! Right on the concrete, in all the spilled beer and in front of thousands of screaming fans. I did it in the middle of When The World Ends. She cried, and said yes! I got plenty of high fives and all the ladies wanted to see the ring. I was nervous, had to fly from MPLS, went to the Raleigh show the night before and then had to wait all day for this show. I was more worried about losing the ring! Wedding is at the Bellagio, in Las Vegas in April of 2009. I wonder where DMB is playing then?

Let me start by saying this...Charlotte isn't my favorite venue to see a show. That being said, DMB never disappoints. In what was my 16th overall show, but first of this year, I was disappointed to not hear SUAD, and Shotgun (and even more disappointed to learn Shotgun was left out of the set). I couldn't believe it when I heard the nice little run of Pig, Say Goodbye, The Dreaming Tree, and Eh Hee. Plus, the return of Typical, and Nancies. The one lull in the show that killed every ounce of energy for me was Loving Wings and Where Are You Going. Right after an extensive Crush Jam...that was enough to put anyone to sleep.

I had a great time tonight and it was an overall good experience. Me and my mom have started a tradition to go to every charlotte show he plays so that's exciting. That being said...of the 5 shows I've been to, I'd rank this one #5. I am really into A Dream So Real, but he's gotta stop opening with it. Get the crowd pumping right out of the box. He opened with DDTW last year and that was perfect. And I may stand alone in saying this or maybe not, but Loving Wings is a terrible live song. I also made a critical error, doing something I said I'd never do...I went in EXPECTING to hear You Never Know because of the soundcheck and the fact that he played it in Raleigh...and he didn't play it. Other than that though, it was a fun show. I had never heard Nancies or Crush live so those were treats. Highlight of the night was Pig for me. Go Dave!

I was on the lawn during the Charlotte show, and most of the people seemed to be there for the music, but there were still the "required" stupidly drunk people. This was actually my first DMB show (I saw Dave Matthews at the Xmas Jam in Asheville last year), and I had a great time. I wish they had played more upbeat songs that the crowd could really have gotten in to, but other than that, I had an amazing time!

My second show, and I really wasn't happy with it. It was like DMB was playing to themselves instead of the crowd. I mean, they sounded great, but it was pretty much a slow setlist with a lot of jazz influences that night. I think the best part of the show was when they played Stay and Pig.

boyd was on fire all night and cater too, and he did some really cool stuff at the end of loving wings

did anybody else notice stay was just a little bit slower than usuall? maybe i think too much.

the only thing that could have made it better would have been Intro>>Halloween, but watchtower was still rocking!

this is why i love DMB!!!

I thought the show was OK...then again I am very picky

I've been to quite a few amazing show's at SPAC

so it is tough to compare

Opening with A Dream So Real almost put a damper on the whole night for me. Its just to slow of an opener...gotta get the crowd juiced during the opener...

Two Step and The Dreaming Tree were on point...BUT he did forget some words from two step.

Stand Up in general is just a horrible song...joe lawlor does add a flair to it though

Bayou's jam was phenomenal but the song still isn't very good (they should truncate it like Typical)

AND OF COURSE...the highlight of the night...hearing Pig twice (had to have been there for sound check)

I went into this show thinking...we didn't get DT or any drum solos last night. They came through on both. This Dreaming Tree was UNREAL. very long. I looked over at my buddy just shaking my head saying "unbelieveable" it seemed at about the 10 min. mark. Twice as much energy as Raleigh, IMHO. Didn't mind hearing Typ back-to-back. Knew a AATW was going to close. Good early two step. Say-goodbye was great. Loving wings was a highlight for me. Pig...nuff said.

I have been a DMB fan for years now and this was my first show. I was very impressed with the way Dave intoduced Robert Earl Keen...1st class! The show was great, they played their hearts out. All Along the Watchtower blew my mind! The best part to me was while everyone was leaving, the band members in their tour buses blew their air horns at everyone. The whole parking lot cheered them goodbye! It was awsome! Best time of my life!

Overall, a great show. Was it me, or did Dave forget the lyrics during Two Step and Say Goodbye? I wasn't a big fan of some of the long, slow jams...almost felt like, get to the point here...I really didn't like their choice for an opening song - started way to mellow. But when Two Step started, well the energy just exploded and they rocked it! Cornbread and Eh Hee are great band songs - I really thought Eh Hee was awesome with the full band. Cornbread was just ok - good, but not the crowd didn't react to it as much as Eh Hee. Personally, I didn't like the odd Typical Situation bit -- I didn't get it, it seemed awkward or off. Just, it was not really tight like some of their other songs...The Dreaming Tree was amazing - highlight of the night. That song just rocked, the band rocked, it was no question the best played song. I also loved the Dancing Nancies / Stay ending - especially Stay - that was the first time I've heard it and it sounds great live.

Oh - the little boy with the drumsticks - awesome - what a memory that kid will have. I don't even think he will ever realize just how cool that moment was...

Encore - solid jam with ABI, and Watchtower is always a great closer - although did anyone else notice they cut it short? I guess they were pushing the clock tonight...

So overall, a good show, just not one that I'd say was their best, at least not for Charlotte...think back a few years
