This was my first time to see Tim with the band. Loved every minute of the added nuance from Tim's electric guitars.

Im going to start by saying i went into this show with very high hopes, first show of the tour and all. not one new song first of all, and the vibe was real mellow. tim reynolds added a bit of change but most of the time he played i could hear him over the rest of the band and this became annoying after time. the stage setup was awesome, the band started behind 3 screens and then played as the screen lifted into the air. this also became the top of the backdrop for most of the songs because they played bits of the music videos with the songs. one thing i did not like about this concert was the choice in songs. there was about 90% old songs that i have heard many times live. smooth rider was cool dave put some shades on for that song. and the last song thank you was awesome, and dave danced around the whole stage like a fool it was great at one point i thought he was going to fall down. but all in all for a show opening the tour and a new cd in the works i really wanted something new something more!! Grey street was awesome as was Louisiana bayou which i really don't like but they rocked it hard. i hope tomorrow's concert is better!!

Wow, the energy made up for the lack of an overwhelming setlist. However, 3 songs from the D&F tour a few years ago finally had full band plays (SDL, Grave, and Thank You) and the collection of usual DMB openers (OSW, DDTW, and Everyday) all served par along with a plethora of staples including Crash, LB, YMDT (cool horn outro) and Grey Street. Night two promises to be better with the great songs primed to make their first appearence along w/ some new tunes (fingers crossed) and the slightly reworked Stolen Away was beautiful with Carter adding an extra layer on the woodblocks that gave the song a very cool Beach Boys sound.

One word - tim. Ok, a few more words. it seems like yesterday that I was just here watching dave, and actually it really wasn't that long ago (9 months) as last years show was in august due to the new baby.

the new stage looks incredible - love the "reveal" when the curtain raises during the first song. state radio was one of the best openers i've seen at a DMB show.

best moment of the night - when the camera showed tim reynolds the first time of the night, the crowd went nuts.

dave's dance at the end of "thank you" was something to remember!

Can\'t go wrong with what they did. Rapunzel was a struggle, but still good. Excellent Everyday and Louisiana Bayou. It was awesome seeing Tim live for the first time, as well as seeing him in the band. Would\'ve loved to have seen a Dave and Tim encore, and then Sister, etc. Only complaint that I have is that, upon seeing the set list, why they didn\'t play Too Much. That would\'ve been awesome to hear.

Loved stolen away, smooth rider, so damn lucky, and the opener...stage was cool- enjoyed some of the videos- but the encore lacked. thank you was amazing, as was sister, but the show needed to end with a bang that just did not happen. all in all- a very satisfactory show, but ive definitely seen crazier, more upbeat shows in the past.

All-in-all it was a great show, but I give it a 3 for the following:

1. I could stand to live the rest of my life without ever hearing another "Don't Drink the Water" opener.
2. Stolen Away on 55th and 3rd is about as boring as it gets for a song.
3. My seat locations suck... Thanks (AGAIN) Warehouse for shafting me. I've been a member for going on 10 years and I've gotten "awesome" seats on one - count that O-N-E - occassion.
4. While I dig the song "Sister", the overplay of it is starting to diminish the meaning (for me).

It was refreshing to see some of the Dave & Friends songs with the full band. It's also just plain awesome watching Tim work his magic.

Decent tour opener. DDTW was sick. Shauna was pumped to hear Cornbread! This show occured 5 days after we got married and was the 1st time that we attended a DMB show with anyone other than ourselves. Lisa and Justin went with us...we tailgated for a bit which concluded in Shauna getting her head closed in the trunck, not once but twice!! Justin had first dibs and I took the honor of doing the deed the second time...she was not very happy but managed to chuckle a little (beacuse honestly, how do you allow that to happen 2 times in 5 minutes???)...Justin and I laughed for what seemed like 10 minutes.

Just another average DMB show. We figured that Friday would be a lot of short, sweet songs. We were right. Saturday will have the jams in it. Always does. Loved seeing Tim with the band. The setlist was ok. Im not a huge fan of Stand Up, but my wife was loving Stolen Away. Definitely the highlights of the show were Tim's wonderful playing and Dave dancing around during the encore. Fantastic.
Dont worry folks. You'll get your Jimi Thing / 41 / Two Step / Lie in Our Graves jams Saturday nite. Ill almost guarantee it.

Good start to the tour, but it didn't answer a lot of questions for this year. Will they tour any new songs? Are they going to play some rare ones (bring out some oldies)? The setlist didn't provide many answers. We saw #27, Cornbread, and Sister back which was nice. So Damn Lucky was a real treat to hear as full band. Smooth Rider was awesome as usual, as the band continues to jam very hard to this song and of course the shades were a nice touch. Stolen Away was very good as well and the only really mellow tune of the night. Thank You was clearly the highlight of the show as Dave and the crowd were in full swing and the definition of LiveNation was felt. The setlist was fast paced and was the usual songs. Tim Reynolds filled in very well and was exceptional as expected. Butch was still missed on a few songs. The crowd loved the emotion and popularity of the songs, but still seemed to expect more. A new song or something different.

It was okay...I had very high hopes for this show....and just didn't live up to my hype. I was shocked that #27 survived last years tour...was good to hear cornbread however. Tim has added some nice features to the band this year. The big question - how do they sound with out Butch? Just fine :) Tim covers for them very nicely...what will happen in future years? We'll find out:) 4 out of 10 for overall set and energy.

First time I have been to a tour opening and I was not disappointed. The band tore it up and Timmy is just incredible on that little instrument that everyone calls a guitar. There as only one screw up on Rapunzel but other than that the show was unbelievable. DDTW as an opener, and Sister and Thank You (Sly and the Family Stone) were just too good.

Wow, a great way to start the summer tour. I was hoping for "Don't Drink the Water" to open the show and it did. The band seemed very full of energy. A couple times Dave spoke of how lucky they were to have Tim on tour, at which the crowd roared its approval.

The setlist was very good. This being my second DMB show, I was happy to hear "Crash Into Me", "Rapunzel" and "What Would You Say". But I believe the band still played their hearts out on lesser-received songs such as "So Damn Lucky" and "Stolen Away on 55th and 3rd".

The highlight was the end of the setlist, with the band all jamming at the end of "Louisiana Bayou" and then going right into "Grey Street", the latter still sounded great even without Butch.

It was great to hear "Thank You" in the encore, but it seemed everyone was expecting one more song afterwards. Oh well, there's always Post-Gazette night 2.

There were a lot of good things about this show, and there were some things I wish were better. First off, with it being the first show, I loved the surprises that you only get in the first show. I'm one who follows the setlists, and sometimes shows that are in the middle of the tour or later you kind of know what might be coming. So things like the screens coming up at the beginning or the two Some Devil tunes done full band were very unexpected (if you didn't know about the soundchecks) and very cool. Tim was awesome, and he filled in for Butch nicely. On a song like Grey Street you could tell there was no Butch, but Tim did a nice job, and he really added a new dimension on other songs. The band really rocked a couple of songs, most notably LB and Rapunzel. I think YMDT has developed to a fantastic song. I think the new end of it is some of the best music they play. It was good to hear #27 and Cornbread again (neither had changed that much). Cornbread was a little different. Those were some of the good things. I was little disappointed with the number of solos for Boyd and Roi/Rashawn. And on the solos that Roi and Rashawn had, you could barely hear them. I saw someone mention that Dave's guitar was really turned up, and that is definitely true (as was Tim's), but Roi and Rashawn seemed to be turned down too much. Needed to have them louder. The encore was really cool with how Dave put his guitar down and was just a freak dancing around on the stage, and how he was really getting the crowd into it. But at the same time, I was disappointed to get that cover and nothing else. I thought we might get to hear a DMB original also. I was also surprised that we really didn't get a long song. I don't think they played a song longer than 10 minutes. Finally, I was a little surprised not to get a new song. Part of me can see why they wouldn't have played a new tune, but I thought for sure that they'd break out at least one new one. Overall, though, it was a damn good show. I might be a little critical, but I have a hard time not enjoying a DMB show. The guys were having a blast on stage and it came through in the music. I'm looking forward to tonight. I hope that maybe Dave will give us score updates to the Pens game. I also hope that AntsLive is working a little better. I sent about 20 messages to AntsLive but didn't see any of them posted.
