Okay, so the only reason this show gets a four is because it was DAVE and it wasn't his fault that the Tampa Bay crowd used it as an excuse to party rather than to enjoy basking in the presence of an incredible band. Otherwise... the rain, thunder & lightning made for a wet and jumpy experience, and it seemed as if Dave was constantly trying to get our attention-- playing quietly on the piano (never seem that before... AWESOME) and doing short attention getter slams with lights and sound, trying desperately to get the crowd to focus. I honestly think he didn't play many of the classics or especially popular ones because he didn't want a bunch of people who weren't paying attention for most of the concert to suddenly start singing just because they heard something they've heard on the radio. Don't get me wrong-- DAVE WAS INCREDIBLE. THE BAND WAS INCREDIBLE. But it added up to only a four because of the rain and those that were there to party rather than bathe in the experience that is a DMB concert.

The Song That Jane Likes... just awesome. Jeff Coffin was incredible!! The whole show was just great. One of the best Tampa Bay crowds I have ever seen there.

Well, for starters Tim and Jeff were freaking amazing! Then throw in a great setlist, lighting, Dave going nuts dancing across the stage, rain with lightning and thunder and how can this show not be a 5! I thought the crowd was great and we got there really early in VIP Parking (which was key) and finally got a spot as close up as you can get dead center in the lawn. I also thought Gomez was good and there was a kid playing at the side stage named Matt Hires who was good as well. Great night especially for a Wednesday! See you in West Palm.

Full band version of So Damn Lucky and Dave on the piano for Out of My Hands made the night. Not to mention that Jeff Coffin was outstanding on sax...especially in #41 and Two Step.

I thought it started strong with Bartender, faltered a little bit but ended strong. Cover of Sledgehammer was great.

It took a little bit to get rolling, but "So Damn Lucky" was the best version of that song I've ever heard. So good!
Pretty mellow overall, but the jams were just that.

Solid tailgate with plenty of great food & drinks, fun games, and familiar faces from past shows. Kudos to the Bama Green Project for the recycling effort and to local political organizers for registering people to vote. Then it rained, again (although not as bad as last year). The show itself was pretty traditional (opened with DDTW) with a nice cross-section of albums represented. For the 2nd year in a row there were a few "newer" (less than 100 shows) songs played, which will hopefully be part of the forthcoming LP (#27, Corn Bread, & Sugar Will). The rare cover of Gabriel's Sledgehammer was good, but not as great as Dave's piano performance on "Out of My Hands" to kick off the trio of charts from Stand Up. What made the show above average was the overall performance and variety, and the last 4 songs really put it over the top. Excellent sax riffs by Jeff Coffin for only having the gig for a little more than a week. The encore was short (city ordinances), but DMB delivered with a signature "Ants Marching". The other mitigating factor that ultimately kept the show from a 5-star rating was the venue itself - time for Dave to head back to the Times Forum for future Tampa/St. Pete shows.

This was most def, one of the greatest sets in a long time. The return of Sugar Will was very nice. Cornbread was hoppin as always. My first time hearing So Danm Lucky, and OMG, I know they played it in West Palm as well, but this night it was so right on for the mood. And when the Sledgehammer came on, I couldn't believe my ears, I was in heaven. DMB did it so well! Maybe the best cover since watchtower. It was so fun.

Great show....i thought they played Eh Hee, but its not showing up on the set list. Coffin was amazing, like expected. Im not quite sure why there was a one song encore, i know there is a 11 "curfew" but they started on time. overall solid show even with the rain.

Opened with DDTW - personal favorite. Could not have asked for a better setlist. A Stand Up run followed right by a Crash run! Great soloing by Tim, Carter and Jeff in Two Step.

I was in the lawn for this show and despite being rained on it was a FANTASTIC show! I never thought I'd get a chance to hear any of the Some Devil music live but sure enough the band played 'So Damn Lucky' and it was AMAZING!!! The setlist was one of the best I've heard in a long time with some new songs that I'm loving (holy crap I think Dave's legs damn near flew off dancing around to Cornbread). All in all great show and I'm looking forward to downloading it to enjoy time and time again.

Great show!! Starts off with a killer thunderstorm. Lightning flashing everywhere. Then DMB takes the stage at around 8:30. The screen goes up and what do they play - DONT DRINK THE WATER!! Very appropriate during a thunderstorm. Then they went into seek up - first time hearing this live and a rather mellow but still good song. So Damn Lucky was also good. They then later on decided to pull a first in 4 years - Sugar Will. Now say what you want about this song but i like this song. Number 41 was off the chain - hearing the sojourn of arjoun interpolation was really cool from Jeff Coffin. Then Carters drum solo - need i say more? The only downer was that they started late so they only played ants marching for the encore due to it being 11pm(sound ordinance.)

Great show - nice lightning. Good set list. Love visiting Tampa. Only thing keeping from awesome was, sad to say, the crowd. Maybe I have been spoiled by alpine. Could tell many hard core fans, but not enough - not as loud/crazy - where was the support for the "Everyday" chant at end of #41? Sorry, but at alpine this would have been sick. And after the first chord of ASTB - the response was less than expected. Maybe it is the 35+ fans at alpine. Don't get me wrong - was still a great show.

Very good jams in this set with Seek Up (always amazing, but the best I've ever heard tonight), 2 Step, #41, and more.

Great show despite the rain

The band had so much energy tonight, the rain crept up on us but didn't stop anything. Every member of the band was on point.

DDTW - Great opener, solid as always

Seek Up - Interesting placement, Jeff totally jams out on this

STJL - the soundchecked it I heard, and I haven't heard it in a while

Eh Hee - Solid state

#27 - I love the lyrics to this song

Sugar Will - went to get beer, lol again also soundchecked

Corn Bread - I don't know why people don't love this or know it, the band loves to play it I can tell, ..... wisky dun like that cornbread

Sledgehammer - Been waiting to hear this all summer!

Grey Street - soon as I saw the old 12 string I knew, really gets the crowd moving

Out Of My Hands - I really like this one now plus when Carter comes in on drums

Smooth Rider - I thought it was going to be Bayou when I saw the guitar, but they couldda fooled me, not my favorite but now it is I suppose

Louisiana Bayou - This song has been played so well, makes you wanna dance

41 - best version I have seen, I know Leroi isn't there but I just can't say how much this song kicked ass tonight

ASTB > Too Much - I love this always

Two Step - !!!! totally random, sick song

Ants Marching - came on right at 11, great closer so sad it had to end

Amazing setlist tonight, the band has never sounded better and Jeff is a great fill in for a member who is truly irreplaceable

Overall the show was good, was the first time that I heard the boys without Roi. I wasn't even going to go see them but once Roi got injured I wasn't sure what was going to happed to the band, especially if Roi wasnt able to come back due to the injuries. So at the last minute I left Jacksonville and headed to Tampa for the show and remember Dave saying that he had talked to Roi that day and that he'd be fine, which made me feel much better.

When my worst fears were realized and Roi passed away, I was glad that I had gone to see them, because, though I couldnt imagine this bump in the road would stop them from touring, especially with an album in the works, there just was no telling what the future would hold for the DMB.

So back to the actual show (sorry, I sorta feel like Dave there, rambling on about something off topic) the sound was much different without Roi and though you could still feel the DMB there was something missing. It was nice to hear Sugar Will again which in my opinion sounded great and Jeff blew us away on Grey Street and #41. All in all good show, had its peaks and valleys, but still worth it as always!
