Decent setlist, but Tim and Jeff were overbearing and they had just lost Butch so they werent in sync yet. Rothbury was an amazing festival though.

Only my third show but this was mind blowing.

Jeff threw it down on the sax (event though there were plenty of times when you could tell only by his face he didn't know the songs that well).

I loved the show, though the encore disapointed me. Not a big fan of the full band Gravedigger, and we've all heard Bayou a few too many times. Thank You was still awesome.

If you weren't there or you missed the webcast I highly reccomend getting the tapes.

Thank you DMBand and Tapers!!!

#41 was damned solid, I think Coffin is filling in quite nicely...Dave being on the front right side of the stage marching around like circus clown was a complete geek out... High energy from the band that the crowd was digging all night...

one of the best DMB shows for me - up there with the rain coming down in Giants Stadium. I got to watch Dave dancing wilder than I do! ;-)
I felt like he really was thanking us for letting him be mice elf... It was an awesome festival!

And the Monkeys! and Carl!

well, no i wasnt there. but i watched it along with all the other ants at home. sick show. i think the only mellow song played was proudest monkey and the energy seriously wore me out by the end of the show and all i was doing was sitting at my computer. sorta wish they wouldve played some rarer ones of the tour that arent on a bajillion dvds already aka so much to say. sledgehammer was interesting and sdl was sick so glad to have seen that and seek up was ridiculous.

btw, jeff coffin seriously made it the best grey street ive ever heard. his solo is frickin outrageous. im sorry hes ten times better than roi

We waited 17 hours in 103 degree weather for the front row. Thankfully, the show was amazing. Dave talked his ass off and danced twice as much. Opened with seek up and picked it up throughout the whole show. One of the craziest crowds ive ever been a part of at a show.

In a span of 7 hours I went from DMB to STS9 to a vaudeville act in some tent. I've been to Bonnaroo, Langerado, Austin City Limits and many other festivals, but this night at Rothbury takes the cake. Too bad the promoters went under the next year.

Wow, to have a festival that is just out of this world is one thing, but to have the baddest band in the land come in and headline makes it so amazing. The bands were bringing the heat all week, and dmb was no exception. I knew dave was feeling it when he came out to dance with franti and about 50 others before the show. Setlist was very solid in my opinion, some classics like seek up to open, rhyme & reason, into proudest monkey (I wonder if he saw the monkeys at rothbury?), into sattelite. New intro for cornbread is sweet, so damn lucky full band was really good. #41 with coffin sounded real good, like some old school versions. Then they bust into YMDT, which has always rocked. Next was Sledgehammer, which a buddy of mine thought would be a good song for dmb to cover about 3 years ago, I can't believe he made a call like that. The show continued to stay real up beat with no downer/bathroom songs really. Billies, #27, Jimi, SMTS, ASTB, TM, Ants to close it out. They came back on for gravedigger, which I never really like to hear, but it was more upbeat than ususal. Bayou is always fun, but I was hoping to get some huge encore songs, or a double encore as my buddy was calling. Thankyou was really good, dave was dancing hard throughout the song, and we were all singing along. The crew I was with thought that Dave was really into this show, but Stefan, Boyd and Carter seemed like they didn't wanted to be there. The new additions of Tim and Coffin were on their "A" game, I stopped writing down the big Tim solos, since it seemed like he had a hot one every song. I think the band is still finding their groove with no butch, and the loss of LeRoi had to be pretty shocking. At a festival of elite bands, DMB still showed they are the best band in the land, and also the best band at planet ROTHBURY!

Excellent show. Big fan of Anyone Seen the Bridge. Dave seemed to have a lot of fun before they finally broke into the song. Tripping Billies was great. Thank You of course a great closer. Gravedigger and Bayou also good encore songs, but would heave traded them both for a classic (i.e. Warehouse). But overall satisfied with the setlist given the circumstances of a festival and not a normal show when everyone knows most of the songs and wants to hear more rare. Whole festival was amazing, and I will be there again next year. See you at The Gorge.

absolutely amazing, my first time seeing them with tim, and they were on fire. I camped out in front of the stage at 10 am and waited 11 hours for Dave to get on, it was well worth it though, front row and almost center. I've never seen Dave dance so much, it was the most energy I'd ever seen from him. And I caught a stick in the end, unbelievable. Hope they make a DVD of this or something

A hard one to review; not having LeRoi up there was weird and the band seemed really stiff, sort of like they were overcompensating or something. Not a dig at Jeff or Rashawn at all but it was so not the same. I was incredibly stoked walking up as they started Seek Up; hadn't caught one since frikkin 1995. I'd really been hoping for #27 too. Otherwise a solid show amidst an amazing weekend but very safe, understandably.

Wow, my 6th DMB show and this one was by far the best. Dave and the guys at festivals really kick it up a notch and tonight could have had the most energy of any 08 show sans for SPAC N2. Seek Up opener was awesome - called it, and Coffin on 41 and Jimi Thing was spectacular, his unique style of play is perfect for the guys, then again we have known that for a long time. The venue, the crowd, the set was all great and besides one or two musical mishaps it was a perfect evening 4 rows back. "I'd like to go in the forest and lay in hammock for a bit. See if I could touch the moon with my tongue," Dave Matthews.

Rothbury, OMG Rothbury!!!. Bring me back to the glowing Sherwood Forest so I can live in a fantasy world again. DMB was great, by far the largest show of the weekend. After the show we followed the glowing lights to STS9. Widespread Panic brought the heat the night before.

Get to Rothbury people!!!

OH MY GOD amazing show. I was about 6-10 People back Dead center. Could see the sweat dripping from Daves Face. The show was super high energy. Camped out with the Ants all day long to get this good of a spot. Michael Franti w Spearhead was awesome pre-show. He brought dave out to Dance on stage with about 50 other people from the show during the end of their set. Amazing.

Seek up was good, but dave goofed up at the start. The band/audience werent in a good groove till a few songs later. Also there was a big distraction which caused dave to stumble. A Giant Red Beach ball. The biggest i'd ever seen. Probably 15 feet in diameter, surfing around the crowd for a bit.

So Damn lucky was the most intense and awesome version i've ever seen/heard anywhere.

41 was really good.

YMDT gets better everytime!

Wished there could have been a few rarer song's, but no complaints otherwise. Show was my most memorable ever.

Thank you was the most memorable closer I've ever seen. A lot like the SPAC night 2 from the video i've seen of it.

Had an awesome weekend with a bunch of Awesome Ants Marching!

Rothbury was also one of the most incredible experiences i've ever had. Would reccommend it to anyone. Hope they do it again next Year

Absolutely incredible show. Jeff Coffin tore it up, especially on Grey Street. Sledgehammer was incredible. The Rothbury Venue was an ideal setting and the crowd was really into it. You could tell Dave was pumped to be there. Would have liked to see some uncommon songs, but he had to play for a diverse crowd. Tim played a great solo on jimi and Dave started dancing during it.

The show was sick I was sitting 5 rows back middle. The band was pumped to be playing in front of 40,000. The crowd had so much energy for the whole concert.

However, alot of the same songs have been played too much during this tour.---Also rothbury is the coolest place ever...unreal

jeff coffin is not 10 times better than roi (you were not even there), there completley different styles and there both extremely dank. roi is way smoother...

The Band was alive. Best, coolest performances of both So Damn Lucky and Gravedigger I've heard. I couldn't help wondering if So Damn Lucky has a little stronger meaning in light of LeRoi's situation. Saw the show from near the stage with my wife and oldest daughter. It was oldest daughter's first live DMB experience. She's now a real fan. 'Nuff said.

Unquestionably one of the hottest shows at an INSANE festival (Thievery and WSP also blow away good). My 6th DMB show and I think the one with the most energy. Coffin is an incredible add and brings a ton of color to the music. Dave was incredibly into the show and almost every song was very well done. The songs I thought performed the best included Grey Street, Jimi, #41, Sledgehammer and Gravedigger (very intense). Hope y'all can get there next year - Rothbury is crazy venue

I only rate this as a five-star show, because the crowd was amazing, the setting was immaculate and the setlist was excellent. The quality of many songs was deteriorated due to the lack of tightness the band exemplified. Understandable due to the fact Jeff got thrown into the lion's den in a way and had to read the music as he played. This was very unfortunate, because if Roi would've been present for this show, it probably would've been the best of the weekend. I still had an awesome time and the band got a lot of people moving well. Railroad Earth and Primus absolutely owned this festival though.

This was my 10/11th DMB show (If you Count 2004's D&F at Bonnaroo) and the closest I've ever been to the stage. Got there about 12:30 - 1:00pm to see state radio and camped out for the rest of the night, ended up about 15ppl back, front and center along the black wire strip and who do i run into but a ton of other ants!! it was truly a moving experience, my friends and i kept asking each other if it was real or not.

I give this show a 5 because the atmosphere at this concert was different than any other show ive been too, i went to alpine last year and just the fact that this was a festival and everyone there loved dave made for an amazing time, i camped out for 8 hours to get front row, not to say thats a lot im sure many of you out there have sacrificed more but this show was amazing and proudest monkey was so fun to here along with him skating to cornbread... rothburians will agree best festival of the year and youll find me there again next year

Holy mother f***ing s***!!! This show was amazing. I've never seen Dave so energetic in my life. I think that the general admission crowd and the fact that Tim was there gave Dave a nostalgic feeling of old times and a boyish excitement. Proudest Monkey was insane at the end. So Damn Lucky was somehow the highlight of the setlist. They better release this as the next live trax or have a digital download like they did for Bonaroo 04. Amazing show. Words simply cannot describe it. If you weren't there, then you really missed out. And after it was all done, I caught one of Carter's drumsticks. Simply amazing.
