Dave was into it big tonight. It was great to hear some old classics like Pig, BOWA, R&R, and Nancies. The outro to Crush was unbelievable. TIm and Jeff did a duel thing that sounded amazing. Encore was a little weak. The band eft t he stage uncharacteristically early around 10:55. Overall a great show tho!

5th show this tour and the band still seems to get better every time out! its just a pleasure to be able to say i am around to csee these guys around when they are at the top of their game! its hard to hate a set like that, even if the encore had to be cut short. 5 jams over 10 minutes plus pig and bowa!! good good time!

This show ranks #4 out of the 14 shows I've attended. I wasn't a fan of Funny as the opener - would have rather seen it mid-set. The band played the best versions of Crush and Jimi Thing I've ever heard in person. Grey Street sounded great mid-set. The highlight of the show had to have been Best of What's Around. After Spaceman, I thought the band was going to segue into Corn Bread, but they surprised the crowd with Best instead. The second half of the show as little weak. Solid version of Two Step, and Carter didn't sound human during the jam. Overall, I would have given the show five stars if the encore wasn't week (the band had to scrap Watchtower because of the 11:00 curfew). It was about time Blossom got a good show.

This was my first show in three years and it was a good one to come back to. A good mix of new and old material. The weak encore keeps this show from getting a 4. Probably won't go back to Blossom if it is a curfew that kept the encore from going.

First time to Blossom very nice venue. 14th show. Thought the set-list was very very solid. Pig and Best are 2 of my all time favs. I had been waiting 6 years to hear BOWA. That made the concert. Rhyme&Reason is a kick ass song!! Grey Street will never get old for me. They didnt play Spaceman in Cincy so I was glad to hear that. Two Step was just a bad ass version. Funny as an opener is already old.

awesome set list mixing new songs with classics. Many great versions of songs. Jeff was amazing going back and forth with Tim and Carter. Carter's 2Step was one of a kind. Dave's voice was dead on tonight and his scatting was epic. I was really hoping for Shotgun as it has been getting teased. They played so much of it that I was sure it was getting played. By far the best of 4 Blossom shows I have seen. Rye Whiskey > Shake Me > ???; another big song to end on was needed. It was a quick encore leaving me thirsty for one more. Solid show.

Good show, had nothing on the Riverbend show. Although the encore felt very short, I do like Shake Me Like A Monkey as a closer, very high energy. Other high points, Jimi and Lying In The Hands of God. Beer/Bathroom break songs, Spaceman and sadly Two Step (great song, just have heard this done the same way 100 times). Also, I must be getting spoiled, but Warehouse tickets with an obstructed view? Hoping for Section 13 next time guys. Thanks.

A great set list played very well by the band. The energy was obvious, both on the band and crowd's end. Crush was excellent, BOWA and Pig (both are some of my favs) were surprises and played very well. Nice work on Grey Street as well. You and Me was noticeably better than the album version, as was LITHOG (both are not particular favs of mine). Two Step was standard, but good as always. Boyd's playing on Rye Whiskey took it to a whole other level.

Wish they could actually complete the encore. Shake me, although an awesome song (I've been waiting all summer to hear it played live, and tripped and fell twice when it started out of pure excitement) probably wasn't the best way to end the show. C'est la vie.

Thank you tapers for such a quick turnaround!

Hot and steamy night - Saw the show with my sister-in-law, and was late getting to the venue due to a visit to an old friend who lived about 15 miles away... Missed first two songs but busted my butt getting to my seat and enjoyed the rest of the show. Typically crummy DMB Warehouse club seats - Sound was miserable stage left, yet, can't ever hate Blossom... enjoyed the old Dave stuff, still having a hard time enjoying the new album.

Well The Dave Matthews Band blew me away at Blossom Music Center tonight. Not only was the band extremely energetic, surprisingly so was the crowd, and surprisingly no Halloween chants. While this was not my favorite DMB show I have seen (this was my 5th) I am certainly glad I did not miss it (and I almost did due to being sick for three days prior.) Before I go into my song break down, I want to say that whomever was sitting in Section 34 N in seats 1-13 or so, stay home next year and let the guy who cherishes his 70 dollar ticket enjoy the frickin' show. Now I have never been annoyed by fellow fans, but when you have Mr. Clean and Uma Thurman making out the entire time in front of you and a girl falling three times, randomly crying, possibly puking, and just switching seats constantly, it can get distracting. I would not have a problem if i was taller than 5'8 but I'm not, and not being able to see over these obnoxious "fans" was distracting at times. Nonetheless, my review of this fantastic show.

FTWII- A fantastic opener, I have seen them play it on many talk shows since the album came out, but Boyd's solo was extended and so was Tim's and this was pleasing to hear. Despite Dave fumbling on the first chorus line, he knocked out of the park. His voice was spot on allll night.

Pig- A surprise. I know the band has been playing it on and off this tour, but was not expecting to hear it here at Blossom. Boyd's violin shined throughout and the ending with the horns and Tim was very nice.

Shotgun(tease)- I saw the tiny guitar and hoped he would play this now mythical song. He actually sang the whole intro and thought they were going to go into it. Oh well, I still heard it at Blossom in 2007.

Squirm- One of my favorite new songs. Its absolutely sick live. Dave fumbled again on the first line, but the immense power of the song overshadows it; this is the closest thing we have right now to his american baby intro screaming.

Crush- I heard it when Leroi was still alive (RIP) but before Tim rejoined so I had yet to hear the "Duel" in person. Let me tell you, Tim and Jeff blew it up. Tim played so fast and Jeff's hands moved faster than Tim's. Sorry Tim, Jeff won that battle.

Spaceman- So psychadelic live. The trumpet adds so much. I noticed this was the "bathroom song" for a lot of people probably because they were expecting some "Spacebread" action however they lost because cornbread did not come...

The Best of Whats Around- Wow. A complete shock for me. 25 shows since the last one and here it was. A song that I have longed to hear just because it seems like such an old school DMB song to me. I definitly missed a Leroi solo on this one though, but well played boys.

Grey Street- I will admit when I saw the 12 string the first thing I thought was, what new song is played on the 12 string. Grey street...ya got me! Have heard it live many times but it always seems to pump the crowd up, always a great song.

Seven- One of my favorite new songs. It just swings so smooth. Dave's voice sounded great on it. Unfortunately this is when the obnoxious crowd in the row in front of me decided to show up to the concert. Seriously, did they steal these seats cuz 12 people do not equal 8 empty seats.

Jimi Thing- Great. Purely played. Dave's scat came complete with mime-like motions and funky old man dancing. The Sexy M.F outro is classic and could not help but laugh. Rashawn's face was pricelss when he was singing it.

LITHOG- As beautiful live as it is on the album. Extended outro is very nice. This song could become a long jam kinda like a #41.

Bayou- Oh what do I say. I dont hate it. I definitly dont hate it like a lot of fans do. But 4 blossom shows and 4 Bayous. I dunno, it was like hearing Crash at both the columbus and blossom show last year. You just dont need it. However, they are trying to make it better with keeping the horn buildup from last year and the new funky intro. But its still the same besides that. Change the outro too, and maybe it will be fresh again.

Why I Am- Love it. So fast and powerful live. Love how everyone cheers after "Groogrux King" and I love how dave now sings it as forever dancing with the groogrux king. Wish they would extend an outro on this one. Soon.

Rhyme & Reason- Heard it at my frist Dave show, but its so much more bad ass now with Tim and the horn section. Very cool.

Nancies- WHHHHYYYY!? Am I not a fan because I do not like this song. I don't take bathroom breaks during Dave shows but this would have been it. I dont know why I dont like it, I know a lot of people do, the lyrics are cool, but theres something off about it to me. Dave's scat intro was sweet tonight and the sort of stop time outro was too, but sorry DMB fans, I rested my legs for a short period of time during this one.

You & Me- I like it on the album, its very pop-y, but its good and different. A little more punch to it live. I enjoyed it.

Two Step- I have heard this at every Dave show I have been to. Unlike Bayou, it does not get old. It has been extremely different every time. every time. It does not flow as well as it used to, and I blame that on the hardcore, powerful tim solo and carter solo, but its still sooo good. The outro was absolutely the best I have heard tonight. Dave scatted so hard it was awesome. It was something like you would probably do while listening to it in the car, but Dave is just so good at it and to hear him scat during two step made the ending so much better and so much more powerful and energetic. AMAZING!

So the encore was supposed to be Shake Me and Watchtower, and that would have been perfect. No, it would have been perfect the way it was tonight if they didnt stop after Shake Me and played Rye Whiskey, Shake Me, and Watchtower, but rumor has it blossom has a curfew which I did not know. Anyways, glad to hear the songs we got, but it just did not feel like a DMB encore at all. Definitly the weakest I have heard, and surprisingly since the set was spot on.

-Rye Whiskey- Dave came out by himself, grabbed a guitar, and started playing it. I love this song. A great cover. Boyd comes out halfway through and the two of them really connect. Its beautiful, slow, yet strange. I like this song, and was glad to hear it.

-Shake Me- Kind of a funky intro. lots of drums and bass and then they go into it. Pretty much what you get on the album. Was surprised when that was it. I love the song, but thats it? thats how you leave us after an explosive energetic show? Not expectin Halloween, but one halloween, or one watchtower, or one ants marching for cryin out loud would have been more filling than that. I am not mad, but thats where my last star went. It just seemed like an abrupt end to an otherwise satisfying show. Maybe we should have chanted HALLOWEEN after all.

PS. Mr Clean and Uma, get a room and stay in it next year. Thanks!

Great show!! My friend with me really couldn't believe the energy shared between the crowd and the band. Nice setlist, sure wished a few other songs were played but it didn't detract from the experience. Though the encore could have been a little longer. Heard rumors why it was short but really felt like the encore left the energy of everyone wanting more. Set and seating were great. Jamming by the band, especially the sax was amazing. Jeff coffin looks like he is becoming very comfortable with the band. He and Tim Reynolds have found their groove. Look forward to another show there in the future.

Great energy. Very fun show. Not the most amazing setlist but there were a couple of great rare classics. Dave sounded incredible and this venue always produces amazing sound. Overall it was a very fun show.
Pig (one of the rare classics) while not being a huge fan favorite was fun for me because all my friends love this song. I also really like boyd in this song.
The Best of Whats Around was the other classic surprise and i was very happy about it. I really like this song and dave sounded great on this one.
As for the newer songs...
Funny was a song you knew you were gonna hear, but they did add some instrumentals to it this time around which was nice.
I love Squirm. That dark sound and Dave's creeping voice into the powerful chorus is just awesome, spectacular live, definitely one of the new songs i was hoping to hear.
Spaceman isnt one of my favorites but i definitely dont hate it, it was a nice filler early on.
Seven was sweet. One of my favorites on the new album. Loved the electric on this one, the solo always gets me pumped
LITHOG is another one that i dont particularly love but i was a bit surprised when they played the long outro, made the song a little better for me.
Why I Am was an instant favorite for me and it is perfect live, if your not belting out "Why I Am" during the chorus then youre not a DMB fan, and again Dave was singing great which made this song awesome, "Forever dancing with the GrooGrux King" baby.
I saw You & Me twice this year and both times were great, i feel like they definitely get more into this song live and everyone around me had a good time with this one.
Shake Me Like A Monkey is easily one of my favorite DMB songs, very energetic on the album and 10x more so live, this song is so much fun and i love the horn section in this one, but i was not expecting it as an encore and especially not a closer, way to abrupt. The setlist had the encore as Shake Me and Watchtower which would have been sweet, but theres a lot of blame being thrown on a cuyahoga falls curfew. Pretty disappointing to know that the show was probably going to go on...
As for everything else...
Crush was great. Love the outro to this one. I never got to see LeRoi play but Jeff was just awesome at the end of this one
Grey Street was awesome. One of my favorite songs lyrically. Crowd loves this one too. Heard it twice this year and both times it irked me when they skipped the third verse, they do it all the time live and i have no idea why, but nonetheless a great performance.
Jimi Thing is so much fun. You know youre gonna hear Dave squeaking out all those crazy sounds and the Sexy MF outro is awesome and hilarious. Dave was crazy on this one and i loved it.
Louisiana Bayou, not one that you particularly hope for but there was an intro that i have never heard with a pretty cool build up, and they definitely didnt skimp on the performance
Rhyme & Reason probably not one of my favorite songs either but definitely not disappointed they played it, i think Tim adds a ton to this song, loved the electric on this one
Dancing Nancies was awesome. I love this song anyways but the jam was crazy, Boyd was insane as always on this one
Two Step. Amazing. I love nothing more than Carter during Two Step (and Ants Marching), the drumming is just spectacular on this song and particularly this show. The whole band went crazy on this one. Best Two Step i could have hoped for.
So overall it was a really great fun show, but like i said, the setlist left a little to desire for me and the encore was just strange. Rye Whiskey was not a disappointment and I love Shake Me but maybe an Ants or Halloween or even Watchtower would have made this a 5

I thought it started kind of weak. Funny The Way it is opener: wow, big surprise, didn't see that one coming! Pig, OK, that was a surprise, but was kind of lackluster. It wasn't until Crush that I felt they really got warmed up, and once the ending jam in Crush came about, they were playing really well. I was really disappointed they did jam on Why I Am. Maybe fall or next year, once it's no longer a new single, they'll open it up a bit. Jimi Thing was really cool, with the rap at the end, and Two Step was probably the best I've ever heard.
Very disapointed with the sound. I think the last few tours they've hired a company to run their sound, rather than use their own crew (I think it's Clair Showco, who usually is excellent), and I thought the kick drum was overpowering everything and the vocals and horns were harldy audible. Also didn't like the lights much: same setup as last summer, with the spiral truss, and during the line "look up at the sky" in Nancies, usually they have white lights move from the stage up and across the audience, but nothing like that happened. It seemed like the lighting director had no clue about the music.
Otherwise, really good. Not the best I've seen, but certainly a very strong show.
