Say Goodbye and the Stone... 2 of my all time favorites in one night, show #29 and not a dissapointement at all. 4 shows this year I rank in this order:
1. Alpine night 2.. hard to top that one
2. Deer Creek night 2
3. Deer Creek night 1
4. Alpine night 1

Great show. Heard great things about N1, but unfortunately only had tix for N2. Full Shotgun was unbelievable, and when Jeff pulled out the flute we were all just praying it wasn't a tease... AND THEN SAY GOODBYE. Amazing.

YMDT was unexpected, but a great opener.

My 5th show, favorite of them all.

Great show...a bit short. Crowd energy was there. Highlights of the evening include Shotgun > Say Goodbye, crowd singing "Fools Rush In" outro to Stone, drum solo in Two Step, Crush solos. This was our first time staying in the Campground and I must say that I will be back every year!

Great show but it literally makes me sick at my stomach to see that Granny, Grey St. and Halloween were cut. I was hoping that Halloween was going to finish the show so bad because its the one thing that SPAC and Alpine both got that can be held over DC, and to see that it was on the set just sucks. But enough on that. Again it was still a great show. Say Goodbye - hell yea. This was my 23rd show and first Say Goodbye. Other highlights were Shotgun, Stone, and LITHOG.

All in all an amazing weekend. Thanks DMB. I hope to be able to make the trip back to Deer Creek next year.

Great show - as always!! I really loved N1 though! N2 was great, YMDT as a opener was out of left field but awesome!! "Crush" in the rain and the encore in the rain, amazing!! FULLLLLL Shotgun!!! Hell yes!! Say Goodbye??!! WOW! I looked at my friend and said "I can't believe this, I think this might be...I don't even wanna say it to jinx it so I'll say SG" and there it was!! "The Stone" brought me to tears...I hadn't seen that in a few years!

My highlights ---> Shotgun, Crush, Say Goodbye, and The Stone. Two Step was amazing as well!! And Don't Drink the Water in the rain!

See ya'll next year!!

Incredible show tonight! Set list was very strong and energy was great for both band and crowd. Highlights were a full Shotgun (finally), Say Goodbye, Stone, and Carter's solo during Two Step was unbelievable. Played my favorites of the new songs like Seven, SMLAM, LITHOF and Dive In, but would have liked to hear Squirm again. Show was a bit short though (especially compared to last night), and would have liked to hear a quiet song in the encore before DDTW. All in all a great weekend. I've been to about 40 shows and tonight is probably top 5.

Like a Swiss Watch. Outstanding. Alpine Valley Night #2 was the best, closely followed by this night #2 at Deer Creek. Carter never ceases to amaze. It's hard to find words.

Great seats - thanks to a helpful friend who came through at the 11th hour and saved us from a premature 6 hour drive home. This show had everything - except for the planned but aborted Granny encore. No complaints whatsoever. I'd rather be watching these guys than doing almost anything else.

Words cannot describe. Both shows at Deer Creek were great this year, but the nod goes to Night 2. YMDT to open was a surprise, as was Shotgun, as was SAY GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crush was insane, Two Step breathtaking, The Stone haunting, and Rapunzel pounding. Crowd was as up for a show as I've ever seen (now 9 shows at Indy).
Thanks a great weekend DMB...hope the remainder of the tour is as strong as these past two nights!

My 7th Deer Creek show and 23rd overall. Oh my gosh...AMAZING, UNREAL, what other adjectives?

I was front row for Alpine N2 a few weeks back and almost sold these tickets...so happy I did not. This show rivals that one and I was in upper pavillion this time.

Some personal highlights:

The best Nancies I have ever heard - I think Boyd did like 2 or 3 solos to end it.

Shotgun (full song) - so beautiful. Dave changed the vast majority of the lyrics since '07 so I am anxious to see what they were..it was hard to understand.

Say Goodbye - are you kidding me? This one has been on my 'to do' list for 2 years..and after my 23rd show...I got it. What a surprise and this one made the night. They could have played 'Sister' and 'Bayou' 3x each after this and I would have been satisfied none the less.

The Stone - THANK YOU DEER CREEK CROWD for getting the outro right..the folks at Alpine missed it big time 2 weeks ago. SO SO beautiful to hear everyone sing those lyrics.

Burning Down The House - Energy just running so high by this point - such a great cover. Dave just barking the lyrics.

Two Step - I challenged Carter to beat Alpine N2 and to 'melt my face.' Wasn't sure if he could...15 minutes into the song...well, I will have to compare the 2 tapes. This was sick, sick, sick drum work. He didn't have the back and forth crowd interaction that Alpine N2 had, but WOW - did he kill it!

The show was very high energy all night long - no real slow songs and no long breaks between songs.

I left this show with emotions that I have not felt since Alpine '05 or maybe even ever before. I was literally jumping and leaping out of the venue and into the rain. This band can move you like nothing else on this earth. THANK YOU boys for never ceasing to amaze me...again!

Back to the lawn. Exciting to see shotgun after somewhat of a tease last night. Always love to hear Dancing Nancies. Say Goodbye ended with awesome drum solo followed by an audio pleasing Carter vs. Jeff.

Whole band coming together at once for encore "Don't drink the Water" was simultaneous with the start of rain.

Two Step closed the show in spectacular fashion. Carter solo to finish, but he wouldn't. He revived song several times as I chose not to stop clapping until they jammed it once more. After several tries to end it unsuccessfully, the whole band jammed it for a great way to end weekend.

Not as energy packed as last night. Setlist had a hard time flowing and after seeing what the original setlist was supposed to be, a little disappointing. All that said...still a great show...shotgun and then say goodbye...that was a pretty unreal moment....and seriously...the best two step I have ever seen live. I have never seen Carter go as crazy as he did on this version. So this show had some awesome moments but never kept the energy the whole show.....overall, an awesome two night stand at deer creek.

Excellent--probably the best DMB show I've seen. Seven new tracks from Big Whiskey, combined with songs like "Say Goodbye" and "The Stone" (with the crowd singing the "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" interlude) made for a terrific time. There were some truly magical moments too, like when rain began steadily falling during "Crush," and then later during the closer, "Two Step."

Other than that, the show was pure awesomeness! I loved YMDT as the opener, Crush was EPIC, and then Burning Down the House, Rapunzel, and DDTW were superb! Have yet to sit pavillion, however i was very thankful to be in the lawn on this night... surrounded by 20,000 ppl in the lawn all hot n sweaty, waiting for what we would get to end... slowly the rain starts, dave starts teasing DDTW and BAM! goes into it... by the time he's done, the rain is coming down hard and Boyd starts strumming... Two Step intro in the pouring rain.. building up more and more till the horns sound and the place explodes under the stormy sky... just a fantastic, one in a million experience for me
