just a beautiful night. even with being on the lawn. we were right in the center up towards the front and right and next to a speaker so the sound was great. clear and powerful. i wasn\'t able to make it to the caravan last year so i was happy with whatever they played. great song choices, glad to be able hear the debut of new album songs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bJ53hfy4kTE which they nailed perfectly! also two step was fun with the epic drum solo and teasing on the ending. you never know was a fantastic jam that really moved me. seven and eh hee good strong fun openers. and I love the feel of If Only, perfect song for a slow groove with ma girl. and fun to sing along to.
side note- during the mellow ending jam of Mercy a lady next to us started yelling at these guys standing in front of her. telling them to \"sit the f@#% down!\" gettin all up in their faces. it kinda ruined the moment. its a concert, you\'re on the lawn. just ask them to sit and if they dont than thats too bad, either move or stand up. thats all you can do really, yelling and causing a scene isn\'t gonna help (they stayed standing).
just a few other notes - the trombone man guested on more songs that are listed, SMLAM for one. and Stefan played the national anthem so shouldn\'t that be listed as well?

So much NEW STUFF. Loved the mountain in the background (I'm from Texas, anything resembling a hill is exciting). I introduced my sister to "Dave Wine" (Dreaming Tree), and I saved the cork as a souveneir. Loved being there with my sister and the friendly crowd. Loved it.

I feel the show lacked a little energy in the middle. Great beginning. Really good ending.
The people I was with and the drunk idiot sitting next to me didn't help things.

Interesting show. 25% of the songs from the new album made it hard for the crowd to get into a groove. It seemed there were a lot of slow quiet songs, and a lot of the faster/louder songs but not a lot in the middle, which seemed to create a lot of ups and downs and back ups and back downs in the night.
Closing the night with the best Two Step I've ever heard was a smart way to end the show - everyone leaves on a high note.
Overall great to see Dave again, and glad I got to see so many new songs. Though we don't know them now, I'm sure they are likely to become favorites in coming years.

Wow everything about this venue was unprecedented for me in my 53 shows. Seemed like there were twice as many people as a normal amphitheater, and all of them were hanging out down below when the concert started... meant there was a mad rush of salmon like people trying to swim up the hill once the first song hit. Once up in our seats, was surprised how steep the venue is, almost like a theater, made for great sound and great views. california crowd was hitting the pipe like crazy, pretty sure kim and i felt a contact high. show was fantastic and couldn't believe all the tour debuts we got. LOVE CALIFORNIA! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

This was a great show. I got to meet Allen Stone who opened up for the band. And I caught a drumstick from Carter Beauford.

The volume was set to about a 2 out of 10! We were in the lawn and we couldn't barely hear anything if people around us had a normal conversation. It felt like we were in a movie theater trying to shsshh everyone around us. And we had to travel from Las Vegas just to see the show. We called and complained several times and Verizon was aware of it and blamed it on Dave's equipment. I'm pretty sure this would have been an issue for all his shows if that were the case. But don't they do a sound check before the show? Anyone up at the top would have been able to tell you no one could hear up there. It wasn't Dave's fault, but we couldn't even get into the show when you can't hear it. I was so disappointed. I've been to about 14 other shows and never had that happen before. It was my boyfriend's first time for Dave with the whole band and I felt so bad. I will never ever attend the Verizon Irvine Amphitheater!

Great tailgate w/ B&W, but my 2d time for a concert at Irvine, and ugggh, it keeps getting worse: OC-locals socializing vs. enjoying show; long lines; seats weren't so great . . . but, we made the best of it!!

Terrific show!! In my top 5 for sure!! Very energetic show. Loved the debuts. Always a great experience when you get to hear the live version first! Probably the best Two Step I've ever heard. Stefan was amazing with his Star Spangled Banner, a la Jimi style, on the bass which lead into All Along the Watchtower. Great closer!!

This show was relentless! It never seemed like they let up, just in your face, high energy songs, all night. Hearing snow outside and roof top was a real treat. Crush blew me away, but Rhyme and Reason, with Stanley Jordan's guitar slaying, was my highlight! (every song tonight was great) dare I say it best show yet! Yesterday's show at Chula was mellow, and it felt right with it being Roi's Bday and all, but tonight the band came out swinging! I'm so happy to get some California Love!!!

High energy! It's hard for me to single out just a few highlights: You Never Know, Rooftop, Rhyme & Reason, Dreaming Tree, Two Step, and Some Devil. But of course Crush, Cornbread, and Watchtower were jaw-dropping awesome. Seven and Eh Hee brought the fun and lifted up the crowd to start things off. All of the song debuts and new songs were masterfully played. Mercy struck a chord with me tonight. Snow Outside was gorgeous. Digging a Ditch was a beauty. Don't Drink The Water was great mid-set. Shake Me Like a Monkey is such a crowd-pleaser, and I loved it. The band got into Everyday, and so did the crowd and I. It was a good feeling all around tonight.
Dave's voice was spot on, Boyd crushed and was full of energy, Stanley Jordan blew people's minds, Lasim Richards added great texture, Jeff was so good it hurts, Rashawn awesome, Stefan was loving life tonight (Socal!), Tim was at his best, and Carter was Carter. Each one of them shined. This night could be an official release and I would be overjoyed and the music would be fun and masterful versions, even though the upcoming Hollywood Bowl is more likely to be a sooner candidate. Guess what, I'll be there Wednesday too!
