First C'Ville show. Not the best performance by the band, but a great night of music

DMB set came after 5 hours of music, most of the energy was gone by the time the show started. Nothing notable in the DMB songs, last 30 minutes were dominated by Stevie Wonder.

The band was great, not a full set--only 5-6 songs. The band playing Superstition with Stevie Wonder was electric. we were standing near the stage and it was disappointing to see a lot of the students not really into DMBs songs, that unfortunately is because Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Chris Martin, Chris Stapleton, The Roots, and many more also put on a hell of a performance before DMB closed out the show with Stevie. Still a great show overall

First time seeing Butch but could barely hear him. Crowd was... interesting. Most people in front left before DMB so we moved up. Met Boyd after the show and signed my setlist.

It was what it was- not a DMB concert, but a “benefit concert” with several other acts. I enjoyed all of them except Chris Stapleton, I was happy to be able to go to the only DMB concert of 2017, Stevie Wonder needed to stop talking 5 minutes into his speech, I wish I would have been able to hear Butch, Boyd looked dead, and Superstition was pretty awesome.

The itinerary for the show was considerably different than the one leaked earlier in the week and obviously didn't include Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland from Coldplay and Stevie Wonder. The entire event was nothing short of incredible. The Roots and Justin Timberlake stole the show, IMHO. Super quick transitions between bands and Dave selflessly giving shout outs to everyone who helped make the event happen. The crowd was pretty beat by the time DMB took the stage, and I think Justin Timberlake made for a tough act to follow. DMB sounded rusty (no surprise), Boyd seemed lethargic and I thought that Tim overpowered most every song (something I really hate when it happens song after song). It was nice to see Butch make and appearance, but nothing notable from him. Despite a somewhat lackluster DMB performance, my hats off the them for making this entire event happen. Just another reason to love this band even more than we already do. So giving of themselves. Makes me proud to be a fan, as always (except, as a Chicago native, for the Chicago River fiasco many moons ago). Highly recommend everyone watch the Charlie Rose interview with Dave this week - top notch.

Went with Michaela after we broke up. Started in the uppers and after people started leaving, i convinced her to move down. Had to get bracelets and sneak in to the floor area.
It was her first time seeing the full band and was definitely shocked. At this point she started listening to a bunch of live stuff and turned into an ANT!

Really nice set amidst an excellent show featuring Coldplay, The Roots, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, and Justin Timberlake. Moved closer to the ground level after Satellite. Was a special treat to see DMB plus Butch Taylor, then a really unforgettable experience to see Stevie Wonder, did not expect it. Was with my girlfriend and she had packed me my '96 H.O.R.D.E shirt, not knowing Dave is from C'ville, is not knowing about this concert, and us ultimately scoring a pair of tickets and going. Really nice evening, drive back to D.C. the same night.

It was nice to see the band back together. That being said, DMB didn\'t go out on a limb or try anything new. They played it safe. The crowd energy was almost non existent by the time DMB took the stage. Lesson to be learned: don\'t follow Justin Timberlake, the dude stole the night. It was a really cool to have Stevie Wonder come out, but he hijacked the set and Dave was reduced to a back up vocalist. It was neat to see Butch back, but he didn\'t stand out at all. Was surprised that most of the crowd didn\'t seem like hard core DMB fans. I\'m glad I went, and I\'m happy DMB held this much needed concert for Cville. Highlights from DMB portion of the set were You Might Die Trying and Warehouse. Looking forward to full band dates!

Great to see Butch reunite with the band! I realize it was a short set put together only a few weeks ago, but I wish the set could have even highlighted him a bit more, with a solo to nicely punctuate his return. Hopefully we might get to see that yet when the full band tours next year!
Kudos to Dave and the band for putting together such a fantastic evening that with such great energy and talent really did what it set out to do...demonstrate that love is more powerful than hate and give CVille a much needed boost!
