On August 1, 1998 Dave Matthews Band was four months into a tour supporting their quintessential album, Before These Crowded Streets. Live Trax Vol. 57 highlights this show's classic DMB songs performed by the original founding members. With the first appearances of the heartbeat intro into Pantala Naga Pampa>Rapunzel and a quick interpolation of Three Little Birds during Stefan’s bass solo into Watchtower, this show is not without its own unique flavor. As always, LeRoi Moore shines from note one of Seek Up to his beautiful work on Say Goodbye and Lover Lay Down.

I've been waiting forever for a Summer 98 show. They chose my home venue. This show is awesome.

My first thought is strange album art - I realize they probably don't have a lot of photos to go off of from certain shows but this photo doesn't even look like dave. :lol

Second thought: oh cool a pre order period. Just fucking release it. What is this, the 90s where we get an extra cassette of songs and the commercial scrolls through them so fast we can't read them? :lol

So tempted to pre-order right now. I don't think choices like this gets validated more to whoever picks these if I pre-order now (Am I wrong?) versus the beginning of October. But I'm definitely pre-ordering this and the t-shirt! Holy shit, what a choice!

Was also my wedding day. (I wasn't at the show. I was getting married in Georgia. But we did have two DMB songs played at the wedding.)

Very cool choice. First Live Trax I'll be buying in like five years.

It did not surprise me in anyway, shape, or form that we found out what LT57 was before we got an official announcement of a brand new studio album. I'd definitely add I'll be spinning this release before we get news of a new album too.
