There are more than enough older video releases that they can use, but it’d be great to get something unreleased from the older days. Getting nothing but Buddy shows would be a fucking drag.

This. Earlier I said I'd be fine with them playing Listener Support or the DVD shows they've released with the LTs, but if it's only shows with Buddy then this is a missed opportunity.

No. Use your imagination to fill in the music.

I'd consider playing Listener Supported and other shows previously released a missed opportunity. I don't need to see something that I've been able to watch for decades, looking for new stuff.

if you define "new" as "unreleased" I agree. I don't need to see listener supported again, I agree. but I want stuff from that era.

actually I just want good setlists; there are some from the modern era but not many

All of their DVDs are on their official YouTube channel, with the exception of the 3 Live Trax DVDs. But even those are uploaded by other accounts.

I guess Folsom isn’t uploaded either, but most people have it.

In addition to the logo reflecting people sitting on a couch watching something, I’d have to think that the lack of any mention of Sirius means that this is more than just audio.

Yes this is what I mean, same thing with watching CP or Piedmont. We are fortunate to have someone like Copperpot who has put up endless full shows with amazing quality over the years as well, it changes my interest level for this Wednesday night thing.

I’m with you on this. I own everyone of those old shows, and I can play them whenever the fuck I want.

I’d honestly rather something like a 2013 show over the old stuff we already have.

Hopefully, they actually do dig into the archives and give us a unreleased old show with Roi. See what one saying?

Do we have the ability to rewatch streamed shows on nugs.tv? I'm on the west coast so I'll still be at work when it's streaming.

They'll be ripped I'm sure. So you can re-watch later or download the audio.

I think this is cool. Let's give it a few shows or a month or two before we start talking about missed opportunities. I know this is DMB's management we're talking about, but some of y'all make it always a lose lose situation for yourself.

I should clarify, if they chose a show like Listener Supported or one of the LT DVDs, I'd probably watch at least a bit of one. I'd be much more excited for an unreleased show from that era but I know the chances for that are likely very slim. I'm sure there are some shows pre-Buddy that are taped that we haven't seen and depending on the set, I'd be inclined to watch. This is what I meant my a missed opportunity, a chance to showcase shows that are pre-Buddy.

I won't be watching anything with Buddy in the lineup.

Does anyone know what year they changed the cameras to high definition?

We get that some don’t like the band without violin, but I kinda hate how people say “pre Buddy” as if he is the problem.

The product improved when he came along in Houston. That night before show in February 2018 was awful.

Petition to switch to "post-Boyd" and "with Boyd" or "pre post Boyd".

Agree, the band sounds great. I love Buddy.

They do. I wish he would use the organ a bit less as I don't think the sound fits with a lot of songs but that'd be my only complaint.

My favorite music from the band comes from a period that was before Buddy came along, didn't know saying pre-Buddy was so controversial now. Oh well, carry on.

Yeah the organ isn’t my favorite, but most of his contributions are tasteful.

I just find it odd, because the issue with the sound has more to do with lack of violin or Boyd not the addition of Buddy. If anything the addition of Buddy has slowed them down. It doesn’t matter really, just saying.

Really hoping it’s going over the entire career and not just 18-19. I want actual quality shows

I mean hey it’ll be full length shows on video every Wednesday for free....that’s not a bad deal, band isn’t forcing you to watch it or charge for it. Sit back and enjoy and maybe have some fun? Not every band is like Radiohead who over the last year have unleashed for streaming an insane amount of their archives for free..

I wish it wasn't his default. I like his solo on LIOG a lot, but on other old tunes like BOWA it doesn't work super well.

Been trying to figure out why he goes to it so much. He's a phenomenal player and his parts are tasteful as hell. I think it comes down a couple things:

- This is a big band with a horn section and two guitars; one of those guitarists is Tim Reynolds, who is loud. Organ (especially with the drawbars the way Buddy often has them set) cuts through better than piano, rhodes, etc.

- In an early interview with him, he said the first question Dave asked is if he plays organ. I think Dave might prefer it.

'08 or '09.

People asking for older shows must be aware that - with the exception of pre-planned releases and very special occasions (MSG '02) - prior to '02, DMB wasn't filming their shows.

'02 to '08/'09 were filmed in standard definition.

I would not expect any shows older 2010.

Is this true though? They had video screens in 2001 and 2000, and I think even 1999. Look at the camera rigs from this Philly 1999 show-

And there's a few shows from 2000 that leaked-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtTtVE4GYw8&t

And look, screen footage as early as 1998, although someone obviously filmed this with their camcorder but there's still screens at the venue-
