How the fuck don't they have their own thread yet?

Believe me, I'd love to have a thread about the greatest team in the history of sports. :) |

I've been a fan my entire life. I went to my first game in utero. My mom was 8 and a half months pregnant with me. My father's nickname is Tommy Yankee. I grew up watching guys like Bobby Meachem, Wayne Tolleson (a shortstop in the 80s who wore #2, funny, huh), Mike Pagliorulo and Oscar Azocar. I was at a Boston Yankees game when Deion Sanders (yup, Neon Deion was a Yankee) hit a line drive off Roger Clemens in the first inning and knocked Roger out of the game. I remember how awful the teams of the 80s were. Donnie Baseball never had a good supporting cast to get the team into the playoffs until 95. By then, it was too late for the Hitman. :( |
Re: New York Yankees
My dad might be just about the only person in the world who roots for the Sox AND the yanks...yeah, is right.
Yankee fan from birth (CT). Saw his first game when Mantle was still playing. Appropriately, they lost to none other but the Red Sox :D . Then he moved to MA and now appreciates the Fenway eternal struggle. While he'll always be a Yanks fan, he'd love to see the Sox win it just once. |

If the Yanks get a lead in the 6th, it's pretty much over with Quantrill/Gordon/Mo. I haven't seen a bullpen this good since 96 with Mo and Wetteland. |
Re: New York Yankees
Big doubleheader today. :)

Re: New York Yankees
They don't have a thread because they dont have fans that actually care about a team winning or losing.

That's gotta hurt, one of your own pointing out the flaws of your team... |
Re: New York Yankees
And the main reason there isn't a Yankees thread is because the second one is made, it's filled with so many "Yankees suck" and "Yankees blow" and all those other mind-numbing arguments, that it's impossible to have an intelligent conversation amist all the jealousy and stupidity.

Oh gosh...it pains me to see my beloved Rangers. & years and no playoffs. :BANG Anyways, I grew up a Yankees fan. I was born in CT so we rooted for all the New York teams. I've never been to a game, but I hope to go one day. Yanks seem to be in good shape at the moment. 5.5 up on the Sox. If the Yanks can get a good pitcher at the trade deadline, they will be in good shape. |

Re: New York Yankees
i'm hoping contreras goes on a tear now that he should (presumably) be feeling better since he has been reunited with his family. with that, the two ?marks are the health of g.sheffield and k.brown. with the whole lineup healthy, this team is another animal....
and its nice to see alex producing like he normally does - i guess it took him a few games at the start of the season to get acclimatized, but (and maybe this is a stretch) but 50HR in his first season as a NYY would be special. and btw, #42 rules very much (my fav. yankee) |
