Fenway in '06
 

Just heard on WEEI that DMB is the frontrunner to play a show at Fenway Park. Fenway does one concert a year, last year it was Jimmy Buffet. I'll make the trip and catch a game in the process. Just thought I'd let everyone know...

they are competing with u2, supposedly.

and this has been rumored for a while now, at least, from what i've been reading on the boards for a while now.

This info has been known for a while. Add Madonna to U2 for those that are competing for Fenway with DMB. It is DMB's but they must submit all the paperwork something DMB, Madonna, and U2 have yet to do.

The reason I posted this was WEEI announced that U2 is out of the running and DMB is now the odd-on favorite. I figured that's worth it's own thread...

My info is not coming from the radio, newpaper, or Bon Jovi.

Seems the Boston media is counting on this due to the fact that Bon Jovi mentioned it in an interview. I guess he wanted to play there but DMB beat him to it.

I heard this same thing on WAAF's Hillman in the Morning Show. They said the favorites are Madonna, U2 and DMB...but that DMB looked like the front-runner right now. They didn't say anything about Bon Jovi on this broadcast, but anything is possible. And yes, Fenway is only going to host 1 show per summer now seeing as how the Rollings Stones and their fans ripped up the centerfield grass last year.

They have always only done 1 a year.

They tried to do it last year. Why do you the Boston dates were TBA when the dates came out. The Red Sox screwed them over and gave it to the Stones.

If DMB plays fenway I may have to take a rain check on SPAC unless they are within a week of each other. Unfortunately I can't afford multiple cross country trips.

I rain checked would be acceptable ... I would also have to consider taking a raincheck on SPAC also if they did Fenway ...

I know my buddy has season tickets to the sox.. i was wondering if any1 else has season tix and if so, do u have the baility to buy concert tix before they go onsale to the general public?? my freind seemed to think so but I need a second confirmation..

my bro went to Buffett he said it sounded good. Im sure the atomosphere alone would be worth it. I will be there if it happens and i have a feeling you will be too ;)

I hope we can becuz he said I could take them.. his seats are 4th row behind the sox dugout so i guess that wouldnt be too bad

ohh hmmmm i didnt event hink about whether or not youd have the same seats.... That would be an unbelievable show. I was at buffett as well and the sound was pretty good. Being at Fenway with dave playing, i dont care what it sounds like......unbelievable...ive been waiting for this one. U2 can wait til next year (id go to that too though!!)
