Why is your recording 1.75 gigs when YeMiniMe's is .967 gigs? Is this one way better?

This one is 24 bit and the others are 16 bit.

I also have 24 bit versions of these recordings. They are available at dreaming tree.org.

Usually, recordings these days are done in 24 bit instead of 16 and then a 16 bit version is made.

Standard CD quality is 16 bit. 24 bit is basically a more exact way of converting the analog signal that the microphone picks up into a digital storage. However, in order to do this, more data needs to be stored and the file is larger.

If you are going to eventually convert it to .mp3 and then listen to the recording on simple headphones, it could be argued that the difference will be minimal. However, audiophiles with really good playback equipment etc. will swear by the 24 bit recording.

Take your pick!

Wow thank you for replying, I am lost when it comes to the technical aspect of audio recordings. That helped out alot. Thank you. :)
