Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
Forget about night 3's vs night 3's or overall weekends to weekends...
...Can anyone actually put forward a considerable and proper rejection of the following statement: Atlantic City was a galaxy's worth better than Chicago??? |
Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
This thread will not go well. I think AC was better but it was not better by much. And how the hell is AC galaxies better when a ton of the same songs were played at both?
|
Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
I wouldn't say that by any means. Unless you were at both, its impossible.
Chicago venue could have been a bit better, but I had one hell of a blast. Heard all the songs I wanted and N3 was my 30th...couldn't have been better. I hate these type of assumptions.... |

I crunched some numbers and it turns out the answer is 6.2.

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
the only people who could have any say in this matter is those who were at both caravans. everything else is speculation based on what they've read on here.

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
Was at both... I came very very close to picking chicago. If it has halloween I do. Night 2 and 1 of chicago bwere better than night 2 and 1 of ac. However night 3 of ac was that good
Also dave and tim was better chicago |

bet OP went to AC.

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
I will never get this obsession with ranking shows and saying "mine was better than yours!!" I think everyone at both the AC and Chicago Caravans had a blast and isn't that what's really important?

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
N1 and n2 in both chitown and ac weren't anything great so they cancel each other out. N3 goes to ac.

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
Are we talking strictly DMB or entire festival? Strictly setlists or does the venue quality factor in?
Chicago's venue was fine once you (finally) got inside. Everything that's important was set up well. The stages were the perfect distances apart and the acoustics were good. The non-DMB performances were all fantastic as far as I can speak for. Comparing the lineups, it's hard not to give the nod to Chicago in that respect, although Dr. Dog would have been awesome. |

Re: Can we even try to compare Chicago to AC?
I was at both weekends and have to give the overall edge to AC. The reason for this is that it was a very similar set list for the 2 weekends. In AC it was new and had the guests. I will take the AC location over Lakeside but the energy and crowd at Lakeside was superior. Both great weekends and now have to start counting down again. Great to meet many of you and hope to see some of you at the Gorge.
