Boston

So I went to Boston this past weekend. First time visit, and im gonna say that i enjoy boston more than NYC. The downtown area is a great place, the bars, clubs, etc., great nightlife. I stayed with a friend who goes to suffolk i think and she has an appartment right in downtown. Crazy weekend it was.

Anywho, just wanted to see what every thinks about the city.

I agree with you 100%. I used to live and work just outside of Boston for over 3 years and I hate the Red Sox and all their fans, but the city of Boston is cool as shit! The T used to be open til like 3 or 4am, but all the drunks from the bars were getting on and destroying/throwing up all over the place. That's why the last train is at like 12:40am or whatever.

Just moved to Boston (well, Cambridge) about 3 months ago from Chicago, and I LOVE it.

Can't say I like it more than I like Chicago, but for some reason Boston just seems like more my style...

Well their sports teams, mainly the Red Sox and the Pats (and yes I know theyre a half hour out of dowtown Boston) fuckin suck a big dick, but the city itself is cool. I went this summer to Boston and it is a great place to visit. Fenway Park was nice as well, so old and historic. I'm trying to hit up all 30 ballparks so despite being a Yankee fanatic I had to bite the bullet and go, and I'm glad I did.

While you may not like them, the Patriots and Red Sox certainly don't suck

Wow. Is it coincidence that this thread was made at this time in my life?

    We'll find out.

I am flying out to Boston for the 1st time in my life tomorrow afternoon. And what am I flying out there? Because I have an interview for an internship with the Boston Red Sox Tuesday. I CANNOT wait, and I want this internship more than anything.

I also CANNOT wait to see the city. I've had a crush on the city for some time now, and am a HUGE Red Sox fan, in addition to being a die-hard Cubs fan. So, I know their pain.

Go to boston every once in a while live about an hour and a half west, near springfield. Gotta check out Annas Taqueria for the best burritos in bean town if you go. Boston has such a homey feel i love it, wont get as "lost" like u will in manhattan or something, and the ppl are nice.

Wow, good luck dude!! we have a lot in common. I have loved the city for a long time before moving here, moved b/c of a job (well, and a boy, haha), also loved the Red Sox and am a die-hard Cubs fan.

It sounds like you'll fit in well here!

I enjoy going back to Boston every other year or so, I was born just outside of the city and almost all of my entire extended family still lives up that way. I've always loved all the history, and it's a really great downtown-type atmosphere without being too much like the way NYC can be. Also I like the T very much, for someone who never really did public transportation much, it's always easy getting around there. I'll never forget the day I spent with my brother and cousin up there when I was just like 10 years old or so, we went all over the freakin place just on our rollerblades.

    Boston: 48.4 sq mi (land)
Denver International Airport: 54 sq mi

Boston isn't too big itself. You can walk from one end to the other in not too long, but Cambridge, Allston, Brookline, Quincy, etc. aren't included in the city area, but they're right next door. The whole Boston Metro Area is huge, though.
