are there .flac files somewhere? if not then you did not download the show, you might have just downloaded the torrent file.

That tends to be something I notice happens a lot to people. Kick it down about 10K and see if you get some better speeds.

Plus a lot depends on when you jump on a .torrent. Speeds can fluctuate a bunch, but I'm sure you know that. Like the 6/5 Naylor source for me was a bit slow compaired to others. I probably only averaged 50 kb/s on it and I notice the average swarm speed in Azureus shows it's pretty slow for everyone, too (around 40kb/s average speed).

So anyway, maybe try tweaking a bit and see what happens. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Unlimited up can rock your connection pretty hard. I'd suggest dropping it a bit and see if that works.

shnf is a folder, not a file. There is no such extension.

You need to let the show download. Once done, the shnf folder will have your completed shn files. Note, you will see these files in the folder as soon as you start downloading. These are NOT completed files. Wait for the show to be finished 100% before you try to convert. If you got the foobar special installer, it has the shn plugin already there, so you can use foobar to convert the shn's.

Quick question... after I download a show and it's in SHN format, do I then use the mkw Audio Compression Toolkit to convert it to.... wav? I'm not sure to what I must conver the SHN in order to burn it.

Yes, the files need to be .wav if you want to burn them to CD.

    Re: The BitTorrent Helper Thread

    My question is about uploading...

I'm trying to up the 06.07 show on bt.etree but I don't think it's working right...

I downloaded the show from Mike Sarnovsky's site this morning. Went to bt.etree as soon as I had all the files, clicked upload, registered, made the ffp files, made the torrent, filled out the form, double clicked on my torrent file, it did it's little check thing...and it's been running ever since. Bit Tornado is telling me that I'm uploading (and have been all day, apparently) and that I'm at 99.9%. Yellow light in upper right hand corner, no seeds.

I've never had any problems with downloading shows...

    Any ideas..?

It seems as if everything is OK. You probably don't see yourself as a seed due to a setting in the program, which is no problem. Are there any peers listed as downloading the show?

sounds like you changed something in the file after you made the torrent

the slightest change in a text file will do that

edit: I don't see the show on btree at all

Bit Tornado says that I'm connected to 8 peers...

If that is the case, should I delete that torrent and try it again?

why did you "make" the ffp file? it should have been included from the taper. also did u test the flac's before creating the torrent?

Yes, I did test all of the files before I made the torrent.

I'd love it if someone could shed some light on this problem I've been having with Bit Torrent. I am using Bit Tornado, have a router, and configured it according to portforward.com for my specific router model. The torrent starts ok, but part way through, stops the download and severs my connection completely (internet, e-mail, everything) until I reboot. I've tried Azureus and had the same problem. I've tried going around my router (directly from cable to modem to computer), and still have the problem. I have no other firewalls installed.

    Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Probably choking your connection. Ease down your max up/down speeds and see if that helps.

This looks like it was the cause. When I eased it down, it seemed to solve the problem. Thanks for the advice.

    Re: The BitTorrent Helper Thread

I began to dl 6/12/05 from Dreamingtree. It was 4.2 % of the way finished when I blew a fuse and my computer went off. Whn I powered back up and tried to open the torrent file to continue to dl, it says I can't leech from more than one location. As far as I know, I am not trying to leech form more than one location. I need help.

I think that's a dreamingtree security type thing. I'm pretty sure you just need to wait a few minutes and restart it.
