Political speech, bro. Fight. Take back our country. We don't hold Bernie to that same standard when he uses those words. Revolution? Republicans are Sick and tired of being held to a ridiculously high standard. He meant fight at the ballot box. You have TDS to think otherwise.

    People that buy houses in HOA communities and then throw hissy fits about HOAs are worse than HOAs.

    That’s true, too.

    I get why people don’t like them. And some really suck.

    Ours is fine, I don’t mind it at all and think they are a net benefit. Ours takes care of our trash/recycling cost and the annual dues are barely more than the cost of that. That, plus maintaining our community pool, the landscaping at the entrance and fountain thing; I can’t complain about the minimal rules like “don’t leave your trash cans out more than 24 hours after trash day” and “let us know before you paint your fence”.

    Gym seems rattled by simple questions on his communications with Trump on 1/6. Get this guy under oath.

    @JanNWolfe
    Rep. Jim Jordan says he doesn’t remember when on Jan. 6 he spoke to Trump.

    @TaylorPopielarz
    presses Jordan on the issue. Was the phone call with Trump *during* the siege of the Capitol?

    Jordan seems caught off guard here.

    I definitely think there are terrible ones. But I also think there's a whole lot of "you can't tell me what to do! (even though I bought a house in a community that literally stipulates what I can/cannot do" as well.

    The number of people who still think they can live like it's the Wild West is....wild.

    I mean, just look at the suburban voting trends and extrapolate that.

    It’s close enough for whatever weird point you think you’re going to make.

    My guess is right now it leans centrist-to-moderate-dem. Probably a lot of Biden split ticket voters, too.

    A slightly educated guess would be a majority are fiscally conservative but growing more and more liberal on social issues. I believe voting trends support that.

    We didn’t actively seek out a neighborhood with one, but the house we liked happened to be in the neighborhood with one (though it’s probably a half mile away from us).

    I was just noting that that’s covered by the HOA and we basically see no excess charge from it. I think our HOA is ~$20 more per year than the cost of the garbage/recycling services if we were to subscribe to that on our own in a non-HOA neighborhood. So whatever that $20 extra goes to each year, it’s all fine by me

    I think there is a sweet spot for ammentities. The community across the street from our new place has 2 pools, basketball and tennis, and a lot of green space for $75 per month.

    The newer high end communities do landscaping, full gyms, coffee, etc for $700 per month. You’re looking at a $4000 per month house payment there.

    Yeah I mean if it's reasonable that's one thing but the places in this area I would have considered that had pool / tennis had drastically higher HOA than those without and I would hardly ever use a pool and never use tennis

    I have personal responsibility so I'm not upset if other people get money to do something I already did.

    I gave my toddler treats when she went through potty training. At no time was I like "hey, wife, where's my treat for taking a shit?"

    Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get good guys to do the right thing
