I think most meatballs would have been fine with the pick. It's the stupidity of giving up too much in the draft after spending too much on your highest paid FA acquisition, when only one of them can be on the field at the same time. When the team is lacking in multiple areas.

And it's not like Trubisky is a can't miss guy. It would make sense if he was truly coveted, but finding yourself aligned with Cleveland's player evaluation is not something you should take comfort in.
Have all the "smartest guy in the room" types that are on 670 just conditioned everyone to think that, if you're against what the team is doing you're considered a "meatball" ?

So fucking tired of that term being thrown around and just being attributed to anyone that disagrees with any move their team makes

Thats not what meatball means at all. You could write a dissertation on meatballs in Chicago, but this post doesnt touch on meatballism.

    This should be the plan.

Let Glennon start the first 3-4 games while the o-line gets settled. Seemed pretty rough last night, but after a few regular season games Loggains should know how to not get the QB killed. After that you thank Glennon for his year and bench him.

    Da Bears

Glennon was the worst QB in last night's game. Surprised Fox isn't giving Trubisky more reps, at least as the #2. He's fucking insane if he honestly believes that Glennon gives him the best chance to win. Blaine fucking Gabbert looked better than giraffe neck last night.

I feel terrible for that kid. A local Chicago kid, undrafted out of Illinois State and somehow ends up at #1 WR for his hometown team. Sure, there's plenty of guys who come back from a torn ACL, but given he's an undrafted free agent, he's not going to get the benefit of the doubt when he's on the free agency market

note: i have no idea what his contract situation is, but given he's an UFA I'm assuming he's only signed through this season

There was no reason to spend $18 million on Mike Glennon. Why not just sign Sanchez, let him start the season, and then put in Mitch when he was ready?

Why was Glennon signed? And for so damn much money.

Few things about Trubisky - he doesn't seem to have a whole lot of pocket presence or when to recognize where the pressure is coming from and where his hot needs to be. I know that's something that'll come with experience, just thought he'd have a little better grasp on it than he does. Second thing is when he drops back on a play action, he drops back REEEEEALLY fricking deep and takes him a long time for him to get his head around to find his receivers. Have to think that's coming into play with his effectiveness on play action.

This is the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard. This mother fucker is delusional. He's just spouting off shit in hopes that anyone who sees this doesn't have half a brain. The NFL just continues to find new ways to de-legitimize itself every week to the point it's just not worth investing my time anymore. It's a fucking joke.

First five weeks Fox was protecting Trubisky only letting him drop back no more than a handful of times a game. Today he's already dropped back more than 20 times and you're starting to see some of his warts. Holds on to the ball way too long which is resulting in way too many damn sacks against a not very good Packers front 7. Seems to keep looking for the big throw instead of taking the checkdown or just throwing the ball away. Im sure these adjustments will come with more experience, just frustrating that he's making these mistakes against a weak Packers team that's there for the taking but they can't take advantage.

I'm not worried about Trubisky at all. He's throwing to a bunch 3WR+. The bears got beat on the line of scrimmage today, both sides of the ball.

And their coach is a dumbass.

Gould is 31/33 in field goals, leading the league since the Bears cut him. Remember when people actually believed he was done, and tried to rationalize that horrible personnel decision?

LOL. The Packers stood by Mason Crosby and were rewarded for it. Bears look like jackasses.

Totally agree. The most accurate kicker in the history of the franchise has a few bad mos and they give up on him, that and giving up on Jeffrey when he was clearly a productive beast when healthy are both decisions the front office has egg all over their face about. Good for Jeffrey on his extension, well deserved.
