I was just about to ask if we are keeping this thread for the new season.

My vote would be to make it like the College Football thread.

Is that based solely on income from their respective sport? Or does that also take into consideration endorsement deals?

High ceiling and Phil Simms came out saying he was the lone special QB in the draft.

Seriously though, what's the draw? He's tall and can run?

No clue. I remember saying I wouldn't take Lynch in the first 3 rounds. But I also said Hack would be the 2nd best QB in the class. Being on that jets offense does not help his growth that's for sure.

Mahomes is gonna be the best QB to come out of the past 2 drafts.

That's a big stretch with Dak & Wentz coming out strong as rookies last year.

It would be fitting though, in a sense that Buffalo would have traded away a franchise QB

Wentz will be good. I like Dak (I think I had him rated higher than Lynch actually, I'll have to find that post) but I'm more on the side that Dak's success had a lot to do with playing behind an all time great OL and having a great run game, top 10 WR....

Mahomes seems like a guy that can carry a team more than Dak.

Time will tell. I personally put way more chips in the Wentz/Dak camp than Mahomes but I also have watched them both play an entire pro season and I hold a monster bias.

As a Jets fan, I was much more terrified of the "Lynch in the 1st" rumors than the "Hackenberg in the 2nd" rumors. Hack at least showed the ability to play in a pro style offense at some point in his life. And he's not a douchebag.

I think all 3 will have good careers. I just think Mahomes has the most upside and he seems like a guy that will actually live up to it. Like I said, Dak seems like more a product of the players around him then being a great QB. Wentz struggles with the deep ball and accuracy at times. Where Mahomes has way more arm talent than both, mobility in & out of the pocket, and from all I've seen / heard has a great head on his shoulders. If he "learns how to play QB in the NFL", he has a chance to be very very good. He's in a good spot too, I just got a feeling about him.

For sure. Lynch rose up boards like crazy and I just didn't see it. Prospect wise I'd take Hack over him any day. We'll see if Hack gets it figured out, being a PSU guy I'm rootin for him hard. Like I said tho, that offense will be atrocious and I'm sure he will take his lumps this year.

Fun Fact: Matt Stafford is 5-46 against teams with a winning record.

    Lmao @ the Lions forever.

Remember that time they were 9-4, and everyone that had even half a brain bet the house that they would lose out...and then they did? And then got destroyed in the Wild Card? Because that's what the Lions do?

you had better hope so. You wouldn't want a 4th round pick ending up better than the 2nd overall pick you traded slot to move up for.

Dak has looked good this preseason. Unfortunately the left side of the line is suffering and the run game is about half of where we were last year. Dak is definitely going to be tucking it more.

But Kaep can't even get a look as a backup. He's easily better than all of those players.

I hate this argument. Because he's "better" doesn't make him a better option for a team.

He's a better option than half of the guys on that list without question.

Wanting the circus that comes with him is the issue. Which personally I think is overblown a bit.

I didn't say he wasn't better. My point is for almost all of those teams, it makes no sense to sign Kaepernick. It makes sense for maybe the Broncos and definitely the Jaguars. If you're the Jets, why would that make sense? Browns, Texans, Dolphins... all teams with starters that are equal to or worse than Kaepernick but each team had a reason to not go with him.

And I'm not even including the circus that follows him. It may be overblown, but it certainly exists.

He doesnt have to be signed to be a starter, thats kind of the point. He's better than at least 5-6 NFL starters, and better than probably 80% of backups.
