Amazing how Chapman went from front line closer to an 86 million dollar matchup guy. It is like we are paying that kind of money for Mike Myers to get 2 guys per game out again!

Dude, why even watch if you hate them so much? Just spare yourself the agony, this team isn't winning the World Series so spoiler alert, you're going to be disappointed at some point during this season.

I'm past disappointed - it's laughable at this point. I don't need anybody telling me like it is, it's apparent.

I also don't hate them at all.

9 games over .500 and a 2.5 game lead in the WC says they're good. Not GREAT, but good. And its a pleasant surprise

Idk how I missed these initially, but dude, why even watch? Hope that your team will win is literally the only reason to watch sports. If it makes you that upset, maybe just take a break for a little while.

"Laughable" was the late 80's early 90's when there were 15 people in the whole stadium watching Don Mattingly hit .350. This is far from laughable, they're probably not going to win the World Series but they're still a much better watch than they've been the past 3-4 years.

Unfortunately this has largely been true this season. To their credit, they've put a winning product out there despite the "rebuilding" year they were supposed to have. Definitely have exceeded my expectations.

If you're displeased with this product then I can't even contemplate how you felt when they truly stunk. And I get it, I'm a pessimistic fan as well, but they've exceeded my low expectations for this season. Think about the past few years and how boring they've been to watch (especially since Jeter retired). It's exciting to be a Yankees fan right now, just enjoy the ride dude.

Not playing last night gained them a 1/2 game. So, there's that...

I kinda wish they had played last night so they wouldn't have gained that 1/2 game

although... they have a series with Detroit. They should sweep that and probably end up gaining another 1-1.5 games.

Tanaka pitched well tonight* and great offensive output!

*prior to tonight his last 9 starts he had a 3.00 ERA, .214 BAA, and 65k. Thats a good stretch and now add tonight to it

Tanaka has been cooking lately. His stuff has had great action on it and there are a ton more swings and misses than he was getting earlier in the season. Seems the 10 day DL stint did him some good. Other than that HR in the 7th he was basically lights out.

Also, our long national nightmare is over, Aaron Judge did not strike out last night, finally ending the streak. Sheesh.

Severino on the bump tonight vs Jordan Zimmermann, gotta feel good about that matchup. It'd be great to mop the floor with Detroit the next two games, sweep or grab 2 out of 3 from Seattle and get some momentum going into a big 7-game homestand starting next Monday; 3 vs. CLE, 4 vs. BOS. Basically the biggest week of the season if they have any prayer of winning the AL East.
