Re: Minnesota Twins

It seems they have enough momentum to hold on to that second wild card, so I am filled with optimism at this point (which is probably dumb). Unless the Yankees shit the bed, it would be nice not to have to play them in NY.

    Mariners 74-73 -3.5
    Royals 72-74 -5.0

The Twins can't beat the Yankees in a meaningful game. If they don't blow the wildcard it doesn't appear like it is going to end well.

The good news is the Angles continue to lose, Twins might end up making the playoffs with a .500 record. It seemed like a 2 team race but now even the Rangers have a chance.

How huge is the win tonight? Against the hottest team in baseball and the same one we would be facing should we advance to the ALDS?

103 losses last season, sellers at the trade deadline this season, and now in the post-season. Anything can happen in baseball.

i wonder if they're kicking themselves a little bit. plus, if you're a player, how do you feel about the front office giving up on you? probably not worrying about that right now, but still.

I highly doubt they are kicking themselves on the Garcia trade. He hasn't done much for the Yankees (3 L's).

As for the Kintzler trade...a toss up right now. He'd be awesome to have in the pen right now. But I guess it made/makes sense to get younger.

That was all so predictable. Our 2 biggest names (on the field) Ervin Santana and Joe Mauer failed in the one game we needed them to rise to the occasion.

    Next year, I guess.

The Tigers felt the need to give us an early Christmas gift by hiring the power trio of Gardy, Joe Vavra and Rick (pitch-to-contact) Anderson!

    Thank you Tigers!!!!

I look forward to facing the 2011-2014 Twins every time we play you!

I feel like Gardy is going to be the bridge coach there. Tigers are way down right now and he's gonna coach all these handoffs while they wait to build up their farm system. He'll get the boot and the next coach will be the one to be their resurgence.

I couldnt agree more. He got a 3 year contract, and the Tigers window for a rebuild has been put at no less than 3 years. As soon as they even smell a potential postseason berth, Gardys deplorable playoff record will speak loud and clear and he will be escorted to the door at that time.

Dozier and Buck pulled down a GG this year. Well-deserved. Kind of surprised Mauer didn't get considered as a finalist. Dude made 2 errors all season.

Paul Moliter is your AL Manager of the Year! For the job he did after we traded away our All-Star closer, well deserved.

Now we just need to figure out how to win playoff series.
