i agree with this but i honestly prefer Grace with no long hoedown outro. Just a nice 6-8 minute rendition. it's not the length of the song that bothers me, just think the song benefits without that outro.

anyway.... really looking forward to Idea of You, Maker, and Typical specifically from this release

Excited for the audio of this, but I would imagine Chester Copperpot's video will blow away the pro release we get.

My guess is a semi facetious comment in regards to the fact that the video will just be footage from the screens at the show. Whereas Copperpot gets a wider range of shots from all over the venue and takes the time to edit them together. Obviously the actual quality of the pro shot video will be far superior to any cell phone footage.

ah okay that makes more sense, I personally still think the Blu-Ray will be better without even taking picture quality into account, just my opinion. We'll see soon enough I guess

I certainly think the Blu-ray will be better be and I have no doubt CC would agree.

Filament are using an array of $20,000 prosumer cameras from Sony's HSC range, likely similar to this fella - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...tal_triax.html

And they do have additional angles and they are editing them, the stuff on the screen is on the fly, for the video release they'll have the archived shots from each camera similar to multitracks for audio.

Keep in mind the YouTube preview is running around 3-4 Mbps, whereas the Blu-ray will have an average bitrate of around 25 Mbps with up to 40 Mbps for peaks. You can see the compression artifacts caused by the YouTube compression in the reflection from Carter's toms/snare of the stage lights, and lots of loss of detail/pixelation in the lights when watching full screen. That will all be gone in the final product.

I certainly don't want to sound ungrateful, CC does a dumb amount of work for little thanks, he does the best that anyone could possibly do with the same source material, but like you've shown above, I don't think there's a substitute for high-end professional equipment coupled with the original HD footage.

Obviously yes the picture quality and production will be much better than CC. But he does such a damn good job of making you feel like you're there as opposed to the shots of the stage alone.

I would love for DMB video crew and CC to get together for a release.

This mix is nice so far. Only listened to The Stone so far, but Tim didn't appear to be loud like usual.
Also, Dave's guitar is nice and loud

Considering 4K UHD Blu-ray players are down to $118 (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UBD-M.../dp/B075QSCLRZ) and regular Blu-ray players down to $50...I'd concur!

That's why I picked up the Sony that's down to $150 now (I got it for $245 in August) - plays 4K discs, 3D and 2D Blu-rays, SACDs, DVD-Audio and DVD-Video discs, dts CDs, CDs; pretty much every @ 5" physical optical disc format except HD DVDs and HDCDs. Great for streaming from your PC too, no issues with any of my multichannel FLACs using Plex Media Server. Also no issues streaming full .mkv Blu-ray back-ups.

I happened to stumble upon it on a website that I visit. Someone must have gotten it early and posted the mp3's. I bought the cd, just haven't gotten it yet. I was surprised to see it myself.

That's in Canadian, so like US$37.

(EDIT - it's US$54.81 for "International Rapid" and that's still only 4-5 business days. I would expect overnight FedEx International for US$54!)

    It's the UBP-X800 > https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4RCPKO

Amazon are out of stock at the moment but it's a current model so it could come back - looks like Best Buy are price-matching and have it in stock > https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-ub...?skuId=5748620
