Gary collects animation cells and he was talking about his collection. He said his next purchase was going to be either Quick Draw McGraw or Baba Booey. Evidently the character's name is Baba Louie and Howard was busting his chops for spending three grand on something when he didn't even know the characters's name.

It was also funny the way Gary pronounced it. It is actually a clip they still play.

They harped on it for close to an hour and Gary was fuming that they wouldn't let it drop.

Re: Official Howard Stern Show discussion thread

Okay Howard fans, in case you missed them bringing this up on Friday's show....

Hope that CBS's afternoon game runs late today (in my market it's Denver at KC), because the network has 2 different version of "60 Minutes" ready to go tonight: one shorter, one longer. So if the football game runs later than expected, CBS actually wants to eat up the remaining hour of when it does, then fill in the entire next hour (I think being a 7-something to 8pm, then from 8 to 9). If this is the case, the 60 Minutes segment on Howard will run a good 15 minutes or so long. If the game ends "on time" and the show is just the typical length, the Howard piece they have is edited to only be about 7 minutes long.

This all came from the 60 Minutes female producer they had on the phone, I forget her name right now. They also did joke though that Artie has the power (via his gambling) to affect the game in certain ways so that it'll be sure to end up running long Though Howard was pretty nervous on how the segment would represent him, they did play a clip that they got a hold of and it actually impressed him, so now he's sorta hoping they do get to air the extended version.

Just to clarify, that $500 million isn't all going into Howard's pockets. The $500 million deal has to cover everyone's salaries (Artie, Robin, Eric Norris, Fa Fa Foheee etc), it has to cover production costs etc etc.

Just want to be sure everyone knows Howard isn't getting $100 million per year - more like $35 or $40 million.

If you guys want a really good rundown of each show over the last 10 years, check out this website - this guy does a great job of doing a daily update of what went on each day during the show. It's usually updated around noon each day. It's the first thing I do when I get home at night - check out what went on that day.

    www.marksfriggin.com

For those interested, Artie's DVD is hysterical - while the one hour stand-up he does is pretty funny - the "Backstage Pass" section is unbelievable - they follow him around to two different gigs in New Jersey - the guy lives the greatest life, ever.

ugh, I can't STAND Elliot Offerman. Never have. He's not only disturbing to look at because of wearing his friggin nylons with his jogging outfit or whatever, but I just find him so annoying, and not even in the funny way. I turn off my radio when they'd have him on.

Anyway, YEA!! The CBS game has run late, so presumably we will get to see the longer cut of the Howard interview on 60 Minutes!

I thought it was a good interview...except the part with Beth. It's not like we all didn't already know she was a money hungry whore, but she could at least try to not make it so obvious.

We watch what he wants on tv, we eat what he wants to eat...and I love it (because he is really really rich).

    It was odd.

Funny stuff a couple of weeks ago. They were going over the interview in the studio - when Ralph called in. They were talking about the part where Howard started to get emotional about talking about the people he works with - Ed Bradley mentioned it in the interview when Howard was saying he could have been more involved with everyone outside of work. Ralph was at the interview and when he started to see him starting to get emotional he was about to "....run through the set and tackle him.." so Howard wouldn't look like a "faggot" crying on TV.

As far as O&A goes at XM - they have been a major disappointment. Estimates are that they have brought in less than 20,000 subscriptions - as their "listenership" during peak hours is around 20,000.

Do you have a source for the 20,000 listener estimate for O&A? I am just curious where you got the number....
