Yes. The West is NOT ready. If GS loses tonight, your predictions make no sense.

we shall see…Golden State can basically be back into regular MLE territory under the first apron if they waive Paul’s 30m non guarantee and renounce Thompson who is UFA

flexibility to sign a free agent, and could get a decent (bench rotation) player back for a Wiggins/Payton package

they are probably done as a title contender, but could hang around for a long time

Rooting for the Celtics but have them losing to the Nuggets, blows my mind that Justin thinks Mazzulla is a top tier coach in the league

this first series nuggets vs lakers will be interesting. I don't think the Lakers can hang, but if LeBron can work some late career magic and of course get the calls, it will just be interesting.

Oh well, you've had Mazzulla ranked highly all year which is just wild, maybe the coaching in the NBA is that bad

I don't follow other teams or coaches closely

yeah, the Lakers are severely undermatched but if there was any series to highlight the intangibles of LeBron’s “pride” and “sheer will” it’s this one. he has never been swept two years in a row by the same team (though Golden State came close).

that said, i had Denver in five and it’s closer to four than it is to six. between Russell, Hayes, and Prince the Lakers have too many guys that don’t belong on the floor

there are better coaches that did not do a good job this year that’s for sure

i’m bored so here are the tiers of how i’d draft my coach for the next 5 years

    great
    tier 1 Daigneault Spoelstra
    tier 2 Nurse Udoka Lue
    tier 3 Hardy Finch Jenkins

    good
tier 4 Malone Thibodeau Vogel Brown
tier 5 Mazzulla Snyder Carlisle Mosley

    okay but sometimes bad
tier 6 Green Kidd Bickerstaff Kerr

    replacement player level
tier 7 Popovich Rajakovic Ollie Ham Unseld Donovan Clifford Rivers

    bad
    tier 8 Williams Billups

Are you assuming that over those 5 years Mazzulla will improve enough to be considered good?

probably. id like to see how he’d do on a team without ballhog tendencies in Tatum and Brown tbh but he has survived so far while elevating the deep ends of the roster

Ya. If I was a betting man, I'd say Nuggets in 5 or 6 as well. Jokic and Murray need to play hard every game though. Jokic has just been weird the last few weeks in that regard. He'll be himself for one game, and then games vs the Spurs just act like nothing matters and he's playing in the backyard for fun. I don't get it.

But ya, I could also see this being the year Lebron just wills his way into the finals against all data against him.

I agree he could potentially work his way up to being a good coach in the next 5 years, if / when they lose in the upcoming playoffs it'll likely be a combination of coaching and inconsistent play by Tatum

in a game that could set up their deepest playoff run in some time with a win, I'm sure the sixers will give us some fuckery tonight
