He doesn’t work with a hype man to finish bars for him or at least he didn’t when I saw him

    Your 2021 Concerts

Nas and LL are the best rappers I have ever seen live

    Jay is up there also.

Almost everyone else has had 50 people on stage all rapping over each other

I’ve seen Nas live 3 times and he had AZ out there with him for most of the show. Which was cool

seeing any concerts at Red Rocks is a bucket list thing for me, for sure. Spoot, can you tailgate there and if so, how does that compare with tailgating at other pavilions that you've visited? Were folks wearing masks? Was it easy to get in there? How's parking? I hope to experience Red Rocks proper at some point. Thanks, man.

Can’t speak to current status of masks at Red Rocks yet.

You can absolutely tailgate. It’s my favorite venue so I’d likely be biased but at least as good as any other venue I’ve been to for tailgating. Several parking lots. Getting out can be a wait but it’s not too bad.

Maybe Pearl Jam if they stop politicizing the hell out of the virus and announce more than the two stupid festival dates.

you can definitely tailgate. i dont drink though, so i'm not usually one to tailgate, so i can't really comment on how it is compared to other places. its no campbells lot at camden, thats for sure, but from what i've seen, its pretty standard tailgating. dont be a douche and you'll be fine, like everywhere.

i dont recall seeing any masks, although i did see that red rocks is offering vaccinations on site. still at limited capacity right now, but i think they are going to 100% next week.

its super easy to get to. its about 2 miles off I70. theres 4 lots total, 2 north side and 2 south side, however, there is not always enough parking in the lots for everybody, so you may end up parking on the roads around the venue between the lots if you don't get there early enough. that can be quite the hike. it usually only takes about 15 minutes to get out of the lots and back to the main road, at least from the north lots. can't recall ever parking in the south lots.

i highly recommend making it to red rocks for a show. pretty much anything would be worth seeing there, just to say you were at a show there. umphreys puts on a hell of a show there every year.

for as much of a bucket list venue it is for us fans to see a show there, its as much of a bucket list venue for bands to play. several times i've been at shows where the performer said something about how special and unique red rocks is to play at. i saw halsey there for her badlands tour and she actually started to get choked up talking about how she had an image in her head about what "badlands" looks like (check the album cover) and couldn't believe that a place like red rocks actually exists.

Have had similar experiences where the artist is just as much in awe of RR as the fans are. It's a special place and I never forget how lucky I am to have it as a home venue.

I think about this a lot when I go to shows out of town, especially places like MSG, the Ryman and (on my bucketlist) RR. That would be so cool to just have any one of those venues as the main venue you see shows at. We have some cool venues in Memphis like Hi-Tone, the Orpheum and Mud Island, but none, except Mud Island even come close to the aforementioned. But Mud Island is so poorly managed and falling apart they rarely have shows there anymore. Would love for it to get renovated and back on the scene.

    Re: Your 2021 Concerts

I'm thinking about seeing GWAR and Napalm Death in November lol

I saw GWAR once before but it was in Denver at Riot Fest when it was 102 degrees and you could tell those dudes were miserable having to be on stage in those costumes

So I'm saying I don't feel like I got the full custom GWAR experience even if they were spraying us with supersoakers of "blood"
