Hopefully we'll catch you at a show later this year! Are you going to the Isbell show in Schaumburg? I got a pair for that one.

He played some deep tracks during the live stream shows. The band did a good job of putting out music on the Bandcamp app.

Ya I grabbed tickets to the Isbell show in Schaumburg. I've also got a ticket to the DBT show in October at The Vic.

Caught a great little show out in the Chicago suburbs last night and man do I love Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit. I still love every second of Cover Me Up. The way it builds with the full band and crescendos is perfect. Really solid show last night and they definitely rocked a little more than normal.

Nice, looks like a great time. Hopefully seeing DBT in New Haven on Saturday, it's probably been 4-5 years since my last show. Looking forward to catching the rock show again.

Heading to the show tonight in Chicago and I couldn't be more excited. Haven't seen DBT in a few years and for awhile I wasn't sure this show would take place. Looking forward to a rock show!

Live at the Shoals Theater 4 LP set for $16. This site is legit. Used it several times. Helluva steal.

Got a free ticket to their show in Memphis tonight. Probably less than 500 people here. Venue holds like 2500. Room feels so empty even with it curtained off.

I tried to bring my gear in to tape the show but security gave me hell and refused me entry. Second time that’s happened at a Memphis venue this month. WTF is going on. I even asked the sound man if they still had their open taping policy. He was really nice and apologetic about it though.

RIP Wes Freed, artist who did most of DBT's album art/posters/promo/etc. Man what a loss. When I first started listening to them I was immediately drawn to the art and he gave the records and the band such a distinct visual identity. American Band and the Unraveling had nice covers but it was jarring seeing a DBT album packaging without Wes' touch all over it. Glad he was able to do The New Ok and Club XIII. He will definitely be missed.

The Dirty South has been given a make-over

    Quote:
In 2004 the Drive-By Truckers released what would become the best selling album in their illustrious catalog. The Dirty South is a concept album that examines the state of the South, and unveils the hypocrisy, irony, and tragedy that continues to exist. The album features live show staples like, “Tornadoes”, “Where The Devil Don’t Stay” and “Puttin’ People On The Moon” as well as rarities like “Goode’s Field Road” and “Daddy’s Cup.”

The Complete Dirty South is a band-led rework of the original album. Principal member, Patterson Hood, took the reins and reimagined this record as it was originally intended. The complete version features resequenced audio, three additional tracks, four remixes along with updated vocals. The packaging comes with a perfect bound book featuring liner notes from Patterson Hood, track by track descriptions from Mike Cooley and Jason Isbell as well as never before seen photos along with updated artwork from the late Wes Freed.

“This ‘Director’s Cut’ is the way it was always intended to be heard” - Patterson Hood
Pretty excited for this. I’ve been out of the loop with DBT and Isbell for a while now after many of the comments made the past few years, and frankly I was kinda burned out with both. The Isbell documentary reminded me just how fantastic of a songwriter he is and I’ve been listening to him again and digging back through older DBT as well.

That's pretty exciting. Dirty South is probably my favorite DBT album. I feel like I can do without the rerecorded vocals, didn't particularly think the PPotM they released today really enhanced the song, but any excuse to revisit the album is cool with me.
