yeah my dentist gave me a script for some penicillin today, have an appt with an ENT tomorrow am. Have had sinus issues for maybe a year? constant ear pressure, plugged up nostril. Got a netipot a few weeks ago, dumped some of that shit in one nostril and absolutely nothing came out the other. zilch. not even a drip. didn't know that was possible.

The fact that my phone on the maps feature has the arrow to the side of the street when driving and picks up every side street it goes across, this leads to it telling you how to get back on to the road you're already on until it crosses another side street and recalculates the wrong route again, particularly irritating when driving on a highway in an area you don't know

Our AC is working but not really working. Its blowing "cool" air but it's so hot outside it can't really keep up and keep the house cool. So right at about 5pm its 80 degrees inside. Its not hot per se, just uncomfortable as fuck. Still waiting to hear back from the landlord. Now with outages looming I may say screw it and pay someone out of my own pocket to come fix it.

I would think it probably just needs a charge of coolant. No frozen coils, I washed down the vents on the unit outside, changed the filter. It runs fine, just not cold.

Irritated at myself for getting a speeding ticket. Was clocked doing 40 in a 25. I thought the road was a 35 zone. Only my second ticket in 24 years of driving. My last ticket was around 1999.

This was me several years ago. I was a dumbass in college and got caught grossly speeding on the highway. Vowed to myself never to drive like an asshole again. Then one day probably 5-6 years later, I was in a hurry to cover an event and got caught going 10 over the limit in a city where the cops have nothing better to do than break balls on minor speeding offenses. But I was mad at myself because even with getting pulled over I made it to the event in time. I was more concerned about parking (where the HS is, it's meter parking or bust).

Haven't been pulled over for speeding since, and I plan to keep it that way. I did, once, get pulled over for literally no reason and sent on my way with a warning because the cop thought I was driving erratically. My wife, then GF, was convinced he was just being an asshole for no reason. Cop was Black and we're white, so we joke now that I was pulled over for driving while white

Around 2016 I was pulled over at around 5am. Coming off an almost pitch black road onto a dimly lit highway. After I pulled onto the highway I kept my high beams on. A car came up behind me and decided to pass me. As he passed I shut off my high beams. He pulled in front of me and started to pull away. I turned my high beams on, then shut them back off because I was still a little to close to him. He pulled away even further so I turned my high beams back on and left them on. He continued down the highway. Next thing I see is red and blue lights in my rear view mirror. I figured the cop is going to go after the guy for speeding. I was wrong. He pulled me over for driving aggressively. Told him exactly what I wrote above. He let me go.

Does that include like an ad valorem tax or something? I think that used to be part of the yearly payment here, but in 2013 they changed that to a one-time tax that's paid when you first buy the vehicle (new or used).

Get mad when Caltrans doesn't post ahead of time that they'll have the onramps to the highways closed. Had a later shift at work tonight. Drove down to the highway only to find out the onramp was closed. No pre-warning days ahead. Crossed the last road to get to the freeway and saw the dreaded "Ramp Closed Ahead" sign. Figured maybe I could get on the freeway from the other on ramp for oncoming traffic. Nope, they closed that one to. Not the first those fuckers have done this. Wish they'd put out courtesy signs a few days ahead.

I think about suicide occasionally, too. But it's the little things, small pleasures in life that keep me here. No matter what happens. Things could always be worse. And they may get better, so why give up? If I enumerated my problems they'd seem insurmountable to many here, but that's not the point. We all have our cross to bear so they say. There are people who care to listen and whom I listen to in kind. Sometimes we can only lend an ear to each other. So I hope you choose to continue because as you probably know your life may be completely different, for the positive, in a couple years. Who knows?
