Just so disappointed. I wish they hadn't ditched Lillywhite, again.

Their original saxophonist died, their original pianist left the band, and their violinist also is no longer in the band. Roi and Peter Griesar were huge contributors to the writing of early DMB music. This, in addition to the band being 25 years older is why there is such a different sound. You kind of alluded to this, but it's possible for it to be good music without sounding like albums from the mid 90's. I get that's why many of us started listening to the band, but to expect to hear UUTAD/Crash/BTCS is one of the most naive views that many on this board has. I think people get too caught up in hearing the old band in the new songs versus just enjoying the music... which is why it's so polarizing.
That being said, I personally enjoy listening to this album (overall) more than AWFTW, BW, Stand Up, and Everyday. I still wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but overall a very good a listen with only a couple of songs that I don't like.
