I am assuming that it's more or less going to be an "assumed risk" situation at this point. Or I can see venues requiring proof of vax/a negative test to come, though I know that's not possible in every state (Florida, for instance). But the logistics of segregating people in to vaxxed/non-vaxxed is just too mind boggling for me to fathom, so I can't imagine that would happen.
I'm going to write this just because it has been nagging at me for a while and I can do it anonymously behind this computer screen. COVID was and is very serious, and I took it as seriously as I think you can. But, with vaccines pretty much universally available, I can't think of reasons to continue to put off events. I've been pretty surprised to see so much negativity around this tour announcement (not necessarily here, though I've seen it, but it's very much out there). There's a healthy amount of people who are very opposed to the idea of having shows at all this year. And though I totally understand and respect that viewpoint, I guess I just keep asking myself "if not now, when?" I'm vaccinated, and all the data I've seen says it's safe for me to do things like go to a show (or make my first trip to the Gorge, which I'm extremely excited to do). I'm all for making smart decisions, but I really wish I could get my mind around continuing to put the kaibosh on events. (I get there is the legal complications around state mandates, etc. - I'm more referencing the "it's not safe" crowd). I would prefer they require proof of vaccination just for the overall public safety, but that's not going to happen. So, let's get back to shows.
Sorry for the semi-off topic venting.
