Just watched this week's Drive In with headphones instead of on a speaker system. Mix sounds even worse on headphones. Not sure what happened this week, but it (1) almost sounds mono instead of stereo because of the lack of panning & opening up, (2) everything sounds a bit overcompressed in general, (3) nothing can be clearly heard except for Dave's guitar, which doesn't sound clean in the mix, (4) and Buddy and Tim are almost inexistent.

Hope the future 2018/2019 shows that haven't been released get a better mix treatment than this one did. The first two shows they did (6/29/19 and 6/22/19( were far better mixed!

Really excited for this show, I think I remember it being one of the better shows for 2010.

Yep, this. And also, Jeff has been pretty subdued/or non-existent on stage since AFTW came out. So, this show will be a nice change of pace.

Did shrooms for the 7/14/20 show. It was an unforgettable night. Can’t wait to relive it again with video.

It’s not about handling it... it’s about spoiling the fun!

Same reason setlist / soundcheck spoilers aren’t allowed in the watch threads without spoiler tags. I (and others) still like discussing without worrying about having the show be spoiled.

Fuck yes, this is one of the LTs I was hoping would be featured on the drive in. It’s my favorite DMB “2.0” release. Jeff is so good here, they were in a very jammy mood this night. I’ve listened to this show a bunch of times. Real excited to be able to see video of it.

Best version of Grace is Gone that I have heard.

Met my wife at this show so this is a pretty lucky pick. They really did sound good this night, wish Jeff always played like this and this may have been the best Boyd sounded in the last decade.

I don't understand why people are getting so bent out of shape about the setlist to a show that was released eight years ago. It's LT22, everyone that's posting here has likely heard it and knows highlights from it. The setlist was literally spoiled when they played it TEN years ago. You want spoilers in the live watch thread, go for it, that makes sense. This should be the thread to discuss the show and talk about the song highlights.

Post LeRoi, these long 41s are my favorite. So much better then the very structured 41s that came around 2012ish.

Not a fan of the 20+ minute #41's unless it's with all of the Flecktones. #41 is perfect at 10-12 minutes.

Cant stand how structured the song is now. it would be a lot better if it was a Jeff solo. I liked the long 41s, but he doesn’t even have to do all that. Literally just solo with a penny whistle like Roi used to do. Oh well, guess we will get canned horns for the rest of 41s until the end.

Wouldn't know anything about that, that would mean listening to 18/19 shows and...well, no thanks.

True, but it’s been that way since 2012 at least. Canned horns

the reason they are airing LT shows, and shows we have heard on Sirius is so that they don't have to mix anything.

It's pretty obvious that whoever is leading this project does not want to put any extra work into them or hand off more work to any team member that would be in charge of doing the audio and video for these

i dont remember how many pages back it was, but i said the pattern would be LT, 2018/19, LT, 2018/19, and so on and so fourth...but its absolutely accurate and what you said is the reason why. At this point i just want like LT7 on video that would make this all worth it

Makes sense (at least for DMB’s mgmt), thanks.

Really hoping we see LT 3, 11, or 16 at some point. All fans need to see a 2000 show! Haha

Why go through the trouble of mixing a sought after multitrack show for free and watching that show become burnt as a possible future release now that it’s freely distributed among your fan base.

I do find it interesting they have done just that with the ‘18/‘19 shows though. I thought the band was enamored with Come Tomorrow.

The could just stream the show live and take it down immediately. I was really hoping for shows they've not released, even if it's from the last coupla years.

the idea of making money off of concert recordings is fucking disgusting anyway. not many bands force you to do this that aren't DMB. its not that expensive to mix a show, and they make enough off of touring anyway!

Realistically, most of these older Live Trax probably don't sell well anymore. They may even make more money hosting them on YouTube (ads, etc.).
