Fiddlers is not that bad and for DMB I will take fiddlers over red rocks. Don’t have to fight for tickets for fiddlers like I would red rocks. Obviously between the two I would take red rocks, however I think fiddlers gets a bad rap, it’s not awful.

I have not traveled in years either. Last time I traveled was the awesome cancelled Utah show, I vowed to never travel again after that. Last show I seen was 2015 fiddlers. I didn’t think I could go another year of not seeing them, that’s why I was going to travel. I also agree I love red rocks but am happy to have DMB at fiddlers over red rocks. I got tickets for every night at red rocks too but I do remember one night being horrific to get tickets. Dicks was awful, but phish at dicks is great. Go figure.

Pretty much this. It's just not big enough. It's just too big of a pull for a place that sits 9K. Fiddler's just makes sense and it's easy enough to get to. Light rail helps the drinkers and I had a nice time tailgating out front before 2015 N2 as well. Best of both worlds.

You better be in the 100s then and not off to the side.

And willing to deal with a lot of long lines.

In my opinion, it’s completely bland and featureless. The fact virtually that every other act worth seeing is over at RR just adds salt to the wound.

Dick's was atrocious. What a shame, too.

They couldn't manage to fill 3/4 of the seats N1 and those tiered GA sections was a boneheaded idea. Made things look ever sadder than they actually were. Which was already pretty sad.

The sporadic hail during N1 surely didn't help either. Glad to see Fiddler's becoming somewhat of a consistent stop.

    This was with Snoop right?

Ehh, I was right in front, seemed cool to me. I like GA over seats personally. If you have a big group good luck being together.

I had a better time at Dick's because I was able to get my whole group (10+) together on the front floor.

Attendance did look pretty sad though, especially when later that year I saw pics of Phish's crowd. Didn't affect my good time though. For my purposes, the fewer people around me the better.

I got stuck back in that second GA tier —*broke college student. I regret not paying up the extra $30/night or whatever. It's a little distracting having a good 15 yards of dead space in front of you.

At least there was plenty of room to flail about back there.

That’s what’s the bomb about RR. Usually, most of it is GA. Go in early, out down 6 blankets and you can party with 30 people.

Hey Colorado peeps! Just getting in on the conversation during a break in teaching. Good news... any year with dates is a good year. I do want to comment on light rail. Light rail there is great, light rail out is a disaster. Since Fiddler's doesn't have an agreement with the city, RTD does not change the schedule of trains running after shows... so you wait for a train every half hour and so they're super packed! Just a heads up that we ran into last year...

Shit. Now David Byrne just announced on Aug 28, right between fiddlers and the gorge. Red Rocks.

Moved to Denver in August from Boston. I know they skipped CO in 2016 so I was pumped to hear rumors/see the official announcement today, save me some time and $ to see them in my backyard rather than fly back to Mansfield/SPAC.

That being said, never been to fiddlers before. Any comments on the energy/crowd from 2015? Very excited, 8/24 seems like long way away!

The crowd will be really good. It’s Colorado.

Crowd was great in 2015. DMB Colorado crowds have always been great, except dicks year.

Red rock lines are usually pretty awful. Restroom lines can be really bad at red rocks unless you use the secret bathrooms behind the stage. Getting out of red rocks is also a nightmare. Fiddlers scenery is sterile. Guess I have been to red rocks so much it’s not a big deal to me anymore. I should ban myself for saying that.

I see like 6 shows at RR per year, more some years. I don’t know man. They bring beer to your seat, I do use the bottom restrooms, and getting out seems easy.

Maybe we go to different shows or something.

Fiddler’s just seemed like a river of people wherever I went.

The worst part about this venue for me was the sound. I could carry on normal conversations with people if I wanted. The sound was very faint, especially the first night.

The second night was better but it's definitely not as loud as I would like.

However it's pretty darn convenient to hotels and restaurants. And weed

Don't stop at Orchard. Stop at the Araphoe at Village Center or whatever it's called, the next stop down south. It's much shorter than a mile.

That could be true. Since I live East of Parker I don't take the Light Rail but usually drive over to the RTD lot to tailgate and then walk over the highway to Fiddlers. I could see that being an issue. Maybe a good excuse to head over to Potts/other restaurant for a beer or two? Maybe they are crowded as well though.

No, but my parents live pretty close to there. You’re still really close to the light rail if you want to head downtown. And there are a number of restaurants within walking distance from there.

Fiddler's is a terrible venue, and yet still better than Dick's. And obviously better than getting skipped. Beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully that rarely useful Warehouse membership comes through for me...

Tried Pepsi Center and everybody wanted to be outside. Tried Dick’s and the venue was way too big for two nights and sucked. Fiddler’s was a positive experience for most commoners (me included). Glad they’re back... and for two nights at that. More songs to hear and a fun weekend guaranteed. Given the long break, one could also assume heavy promo for the New Album around that time. We may see some new music that wasn’t played early in the tour as well if the street date is in August. Of course, that’s just speculation from a fanboy over analyzing.

What's the camping situation like around that area?

It's in the middle of a business district but I think Cherry Creek isn't too far. They might have some camping available. Probably a 15 min drive to the venue.

We definitely scored some parking and hunkered down to the south of the venue N2 2015 and no one stopped us. Can't say there is any organized tailgate parking though.

To John K, yeah, you can’t really park anywhere around there. I’m like 10 min away so we get dropped off.

No camping on site, but there are a few state parks that isn’t too far and of course the mountains 30 mins away.

I’m sure you could tailgate but I don’t think it’s like a big thing.
