You do know, that fight was like a year or two ago?

EDIT: and Evan Tanner is one of my all-time favorites. Shame to see him on the decline.

Armbar. Could see it coming the whole time. Jesse was just throwing punches away and forgot about it.

It looked like Jesse was definitely the stronger of the two and the better striker, but I think Noah was smarter. Hopefully since Tito is in control now, and assuming he's going to use Shamrock's strategy of having his strongest fighter face the other team's weakest, we'll get to see Matt (the deaf guy) fight in the next couple weeks. It won't be next week though, right? I'm pretty sure they said next week it'll be middleweights, and I'm pretty sure Matt is a light heavyweight.

After watching Unleashed last night, I'm totally hooked. Seeing Tanner fight back to win after I was sure he was about to pass out was incredible. And Sylvia is a freakin beast!!! Correira (I think that was his name) took a nasty beating. It really made me want to see the PPV tomorrow night. How long do UFC pay-per-views last, and how many fights are there usually? The only thing that sucks is that it doesn't start until 9:00 here.

The UFC is the fastest growing sport league in the world.

Sylvia may be a monster, but wait till you get a gander at Andrei Arlovski. Arlovski is a freakin' maniac. He isn't human in the octagon.

PPV's last about 2 to 2 and a half hours. For the overall card, there is 9 or 10 fights, but normally 5 or 6 are put on. You will get 4 for sure, and then time permitting, whatever they want to fill time with.

Get a group, get some alcohol, kick back and enjoy. It makes for a great night.

Yeah Arlovski is a beast and as much as I want Sylvia to win I don't think he will.

They need to get Fedor from Pride to come over to UFC and match up with Arlovski. That would be a great fight!

    My picks for tonight:

Arlovski def. Sylvia in the second by submission
Ortiz def. Griffin by TKO in the third

And the rest, I don't really care to pick.
I hope the Snowman wins. And I hope Nick Diaz loses.

Lt Heavyweights they have Silva, Rua, Arona and Overeem. When it comes to who pulls more to their shows Pride draws HUGE crowds, it is a huge event over there. I follow both closely but have to give the edge to Pride.

Yeah, Pride sells out 100,000 person arenas in Japan.

But, there is no doubt in my mind that the UFC has better fighters.

    Great night of action.

The Ortiz - Griffin bout was a classic.

I gave it to Forrest, but I can understand why he lost. Getting pounded so badly in the first really left an impression on the judges. He will have his chance.
Tito seems so cool as a coach on the Ulitmate Fighter, but in the octagon, he is a bag of douche. It is good for the UFC that he won though. A Liddell - Ortiz matchup for the belt will pull in huge cash.

Gotta give it up to Big Tim. He took Arlovski's absolute best shot and responded. Not the best way to win, not the 5 round war we wanted, but you gotta give it up. The question is, who else besides Arlovski can challenge for the heavyweight title? Monson? Mir? The heavyweight division is a little thin right now.

sherk at 155 is gunna be a fucking beast. hell he already is. looking forward to griffin bonnar II, what the hell was that last night, joe rogan interviewed the british guy from UF3 and was like "how does it feel to be in the UFC now" well I guess we know who wins. fucking joe rogan, what an idiot. In terms of the heavyweight division, that's a really good question, I guess we'll have to wait and see what Dana can put together.

I stilll fucking hate Tito, what a punk.

Anyone watch tonight? Unleashed had some classic footage of Royce. I am curious to see how he manages against the newer style of fighting.

On the show, I was disappointed to see Ross go. Especially because I think Kendall is a d bag. Next week looks like a great one though.

Ultimate Fighter was WEAK last night. They didn't even have a fight! I can't believe Noah left. On one hand, I respect him for doing what he thinks is right, but on the other, I think it was an incredibly stupid decision that he is going to regret big time once he gets back home. I think the guys are assholes for messing with Matt too. I mean, the guy's deaf... I really don't think he "gets" what is going on half the time, and I don't think he knows when he's being too rough or hurting someone since he can't hear them.

Noah is a huge puss. I mean, he was in the semi's and he left. What a D.

Everyone needs to lay off Matt. They always lead in with a guy complaining about something Matt did, and then they show it and its nothing.

Like the thing about "him being too good" to show Tait and Kendall that wrestling move. All he did was ask if it was ok, and then he showed them.

Yeah, and that thing with Matt calling himself "The King"... I thought it was obvious he was joking, but they took it personally. He even apologized it! I actually think Matt is one of the least cocky guys on the show. It was pretty incredible watching him take guys down and dominate them without using his hands... I think that's the real reason they don't like him. He's good.

Do you remember who Noah beat in the first round? I have a feeling that's who they'll be bringing back. It must be someone from Shamrock's team because Tito looked pissed, and that's the only logical way I can see them choosing who to bring back.

Edit: I also think it's hilarious watching Tito say things to intentionally piss off Shamrock. Ken has an amazingly short temper. Tito always seems like a dick when he's fighting, but on the show, he seems like a cool guy.

I have to disagree. I think fighters like Matt Hughes and Franklin would be top notch fighters over there but Lt. Heavyweight and Heavyweight would be dominated by Pride Fighters.

Fedor is the best heavyweight in the world. Fedor would dominate in either of the leagues and is the most well rounded fighter in the world. On top of that, I don't know if it's possible to knock him out. Cro Cop is known for being a deadly kicker and Fedor took Cro Cops best kick to the face and it didn't phase him. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic would be on Sylvia and Arlovski's level maybe a little above.

Wanderlei Silva would walk through Chuck Liddell. Chuck is great against wrestlers but can get into trouble against superior strikers. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson destroyed Chuck Liddell in Pride 2-3 years ago and Wanderlei has destroyed Jackson both times they fought.

The one other big advantage Pride has it is a lot deeper at every weight than the UFC. The UFC is seriously lacking at Middlweight, Lt. Heavyweight and Heavyweight.

I am a bigger fan of the UFC but I don't think you could say definitely one is better than the other. They both cater to different styles. Pride is more catered towards striking and muay thai. It makes it tougher for ground and pounders because of the ring and you can't use elbows. Obviously the UFC with the cage cater and the usage of elbows caters more towards wrestlers and/or ground and pounders.

Different formats as well with Pride having a 10 minute round.
